Bob Carter, Father To Nick And Aaron, Dead At 65

The father of pop stars Nick Carter and Aaron Carter has reportedly passed away.

According to TMZ, Robert "Bob" Carter died on the night of May 16, 2017 in Florida. He was 65 years old. Not much is known about Bob's condition before his death, but the gossip site reports that son Aaron had tweeted that his father had been found "unconscious"—though the "I Want Candy" singer has since deleted such a post.

On May 17, 2017, Aaron confirmed the news of his father's passing on Twitter. Sharing a photo of him and his father, he wrote, "My heart is Completly [sic] shattered I'm in shock and I loved my dad so much. #RIP DADDY I Love You. This is the last pic I have my dad."

He also posted a photo of his father on Instagram, writing, "My heart is broken, We are so hurt we lost you poppa way too soon. You were never human to me, you were always my real life super hero."

Backstreet Boy Nick also took to social media to share news of his dad's death. "I am heartbroken to share the news that our father, Robert, passed away last night," he tweeted.

"While we learn more about the cause of death, and begin the grieving process, we ask that our privacy be respected at this difficult time," Nick added.

Aaron had recently tweeted about traveling to visit his family, hinting that something may have been wrong. On May 16, 2017, he wrote, "U-turn back to Las Vegas was headed to Los Angeles but need to go spend some time with the big bro and my family."

Bob had appeared on his famous family's short-lived reality show, House of Carters, in 2006.

Our thoughts are with Bob's loved ones at this time.
