Kelsea Ballerini To Perform New Single At 2017 CMT Awards

The young country singer is set to take the stage at the 2017 CMT Music Awards.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Kelsea Ballerini will be performing her new single "Legends" at the awards show after releasing the song that same day.

"This song is for my fans, and so it is perfect to debut it on the CMT Awards outside with them," Ballerini said (via ET). "It will be the perfect way to kick off my favorite fan filled week of the year."

The 23-year-old has been very excited for the release of "Legends." On June 6, 2017, Ballerini shared the photo for her single with her hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers. "When I wrote this song, I knew it was the beginning of the next chapter," she wrote in the caption. "And while I hope you hear your own story of love or loss and the lyrics bring you to your own place of nostalgia, I also hope you hear our story."

The singer, who's been nominated for four CMT awards, continued, "Over the last 3 years, you and I have fought for each other. We've shown up for each other. We've been neon in grey crowds. We've written our own story. We were legends. And that is why it only makes sense that we start chapter two together, you and me. Thank you for everything."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Nashville star Charles Esten will host the event, which will feature collaborative performances by Florida Georgia Line and the Chainsmokers; Lady Antebellum and Earth, Wind & Fire; and Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban.

The 2017 CMT Music Awards will air live at 8 p.m. EST on June 7, 2017 on CMT.
