What Happened At Juice WRLD's Funeral?

For such a young and talented artist, Juice WRLD had the world in the palm of his hands before his untimely death. The rapper-slash-singer, born Jarad Anthony Higgins, was a pioneering figure in emo-rap and within the SoundCloud scene, following the likes of the late Lil Peep and XXXTentacion. Best known for hits such as "Lucid Dreams" and "Lean Wit Me," Juice WRLD often rapped about suicide, drug use, and death.

On December 8, 2019, the artist tragically died at age 21, when he allegedly consumed a number of drugs and underwent a seizure aboard his private jet in Chicago, Illinois. A month later, the Cook County Medical Examiner's office "determined that Higgins died as a result of oxycodone and codeine toxicity" (via Fox News). They further ruled that, "The manner of death is [an] accident" and he "was pronounced dead ... at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Ill."

On December 13, 2019, Juice WRLD was laid to rest at a funeral attended by some of the rapper's closest family and friends and featured heartfelt tributes from immediate family members.

A private funeral was held for the late Juice WRLD

"Your love was pure and innocent, and your heart was genuine. You truly cared about people and wanted to make the world a better place," she continued. "I am going to miss you dearly.
