Celebs Who Always Date A Certain Zodiac Sign
Some celebrities love a #TBT social media post. But the icon that is Jennifer Lopez turned the whole of 2021 into her own personal epic throwback.
The singer's 2002 album, "This Is Me... Then," came out around the time Lopez and Ben Affleck first started dating, and she seemed to reference their reunion when Apple Music 1's Ebro Darden asked her why she thought fans were suddenly revisiting the record in 2021. "That was a pure moment," Lopez said. "People went back as they saw different things happening in my life now, and they go, 'Wow, really?' ... Some things do last forever."
In coupling up for the second time with her "Gigli" co-star, Lopez was getting cozy with yet another Leo, following her relationships with Alex Rodriguez and Cris Judd. And JLo's not alone in being a repeat zodiac-sign dater. Celebs including Kris Jenner, Chris Martin, and Sarah Jessica Parker have all dated multiple times within the same sign.
What that's a sign of is up for debate. As reported by Discover magazine, astrology has been reaching new heights of popularity, but dabbling in the celestial means different things to different people. Whether it's Lady Gaga allegedly fretting over touring while Mercury is in retrograde, Beyoncé name-checking the zodiac chart in her 2003 ballad "Signs," or Blake Lively being super down for Scorpios, all things zodiac seem poised to maintain their "in" status for the foreseeable future.
Here are the notable celebs who can't seem to quit a certain zodiac sign when it comes to love.
Kris Jenner fell for Scorpios after her divorce from Robert Kardashian
The 12 signs of the zodiac correspond to "the orbits of the moon," according to Britannica, and Scorpios (born October 24–November 21) like Kris Jenner (whose birthday is November 5) are some of the most powerful and passionate. The momager behind the Kardashian-Jenner empire certainly fits the bill of someone who knows, as Allure puts it, "what they want and [isn't] afraid to work hard and play the long game to get it."
Following her 1991 divorce from lawyer and non-Scorpio Robert Kardashian, Kris married gold medal-winning Olympian (and Scorpio) Caitlyn Jenner that same year. After their split in 2013, Kris found another kindred "ambitious and enticing" Scorpio in Justin Bieber's former road manager Corey Gamble.
Together since 2014, Kris and Corey seem to have formed a solid Scorpio-Scorpio partnership, as Kris alluded to on Instagram in a 2021 post celebrating his November 10 birthday. "You are the most amazing partner, best friend, confidant, travel aficionado, therapist, problem solver, golf buddy, protector, advisor, and the best, most wonderful man to my kids and my grandkids!!!" she wrote. "You are such a special part of my heart and soul and I love you so very much babe... thank you for all you are in my life!! I am truly blessed."
Jennifer Lopez loves a Leo
A Leo (born July 23–August 22), according to Cosmopolitan U.K., is a born performer who is also "confident, bright, and sexy." A thousand percent JLo, right? The pop star, movie star, TV star, and founder of JLo Beauty, whose birthday is July 24, has frequently turned to fellow "charming, warm, welcoming, funny, protective, and generally great company" Leos in her love life. And doubly so when it comes to her second-time-around relationship with actor, writer, and producer Ben Affleck (August 15).
But before the gossip gods blessed us with the 2021 return of Bennifer, Lopez dated multiple Leos, including ex-Yankee player Alex Rodriguez (July 27) and actor and choreographer Cris Judd (August 15), whom she was married to for mere months before the couple separated in the early 2000s. According to Bustle, Leos are drawn to other Leos because they share so many "of the same values and goals for the future."
For Lopez, though, her love language is all about looking inward first and foremost, especially when it comes to love 2.0. "I've really gotten to a place in my life where I'm great on my own," she said on "The Zane Lowe Show" podcast (via NBC News) in the summer of 2021. "I think once you get to that place, then amazing things happen. Things that you never imagined in your life happening again."
Chris Martin's best love matches have been Libras
While Chris Martin may have "consciously uncoupled" from his wife of about 10 years, Goop founder and actor Gwyneth Paltrow, in 2014, he didn't stray too far astrologically in his next relationship. Actor Dakota Johnson, a Libra like Paltrow, has been linked to the Coldplay frontman since 2017. Libras (born September 23–October 22), as noted by Allure, enjoy making others feel "happy and engaged" while thriving on their own with "symmetry" and the pursuits of "high art, intellectualism, and connoisseurship."
In 2020, Martin talked about his enduring bond with Paltrow on the "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" podcast. "Just because a romantic relationship ends doesn't mean that the other facets of your relationship have to end or, indeed, doesn't mean they can't get better," he said. Martin's magnanimous post-divorce outlook matches up with his Pisces personality. As Allure puts it, people born February 19–March 20 (Martin's birthday is March 2) are "the most psychic, empathetic, and compassionate creatures of the astrological wheel." And as far as a Libra-Pisces pairing goes, astrologers say this is a match that's pretty close to perfect. Per Bustle, they fall in love fast and "both long to have a fairytale romance."
Sarah Jessica Parker likes how an Aries can 'light up a room'
For a naturally competitive and driven Aries like Sarah Jessica Parker, working with her husband of more than 20 years, Matthew Broderick, on Broadway was a no-brainer. But when asked in 2020 what makes their partnership so successful, SJP went full loyal Aries. "We don't talk about our marriage publicly because it's ours," Parker told Parade, "and it's the one thing left that's really and truly ours."
People born in the Aries sign (March 21–April 20) are also generous, energetic, and "have a big presence," according to Cosmopolitan U.K., which adds, "They can light up a room." Broderick, born on March 21 and the star of more than 10 Broadway shows as well as classic films like "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," certainly fits that bill. As does one of Parker's notable exes from before her time with Broderick: Robert Downey Jr., another spotlight-seeking Aries.
Parker and Downey Jr. dated during the mid-to-late '80s but split in 1991. That Aries honesty (and bravery) came out when Parker spoke to People about breaking up with Downey Jr. while he was struggling with drug addiction. Dominic Cooper is drawn to the 'wild' optimism of Sagittariuses
Working with an ex was never going to be a problem for a busy Gemini like Dominic Cooper. "She's a friend. It was always going to be OK," he told the U.K. magazine Attitude in 2018 about reuniting with Amanda Seyfried in "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!" "It was really interesting to see how different our lives are after 10 years."

Blake Lively is all about those Scorpios
Scorpios "crackle with an intensity and charisma that makes them un-ignorable," according to Cosmopolitan U.K., which is just how Blake Lively described her husband, actor and entrepreneur Ryan Reynolds, to Glamour in 2017. "He'll run [his Twitter jokes] by me sometimes just to make me laugh," Lively said. "But oh, I'm so in love with him when he writes that stuff. I mean, I'm in love with him most of the time, but especially with that."
Lively is a Virgo (August 23–September 22), which, as Cosmopolitan U.K. reports about this sign, often possess the traits of being detail-oriented and having "extremely high standards." Lively's relationship history reveals one of those possible standards: dating a certain zodiac sign. In addition to Reynolds, Lively's exes Leonardo DiCaprio and Penn Badgley (her co-star on The CW's 2007–2012 "Gossip Girl") are both strong Scorpios.
Both Virgos and Scorpios are known for their shrewdness, something Lively and Badgley employed after their breakup in 2010 after three years of dating. According to Elle U.K., the two kept their split hidden from their cast members and crew and kept things strictly professional even though their roles had them dating on-screen.
The ladies in Chris Pratt's life have often been Sagittariuses
"My husband has always been super-supportive and also very vocal," Katherine Schwarzenegger said on her "BDA [Before, During, and After] Baby" Instagram video series in 2021. Which tracks with Chris Pratt's Cancer-like zodiac traits. As reported by Allure, Cancers (June 21–July 22) are "domestically oriented" and "care deeply about their families."
In building those families, Pratt's 2019 marriage to author and host Schwarzenegger marked his second union with a Sagittarius. The "Parks and Rec" and "Jurassic World" star married actor Anna Faris, also a Sagittarius, in 2009, but the couple split in 2017. What perhaps drew Pratt to Faris and Schwarzenegger? Allure reports that Sagittariuses are "effortlessly magnetic" and "fueled by wanderlust," as well as a "passion for knowledge." According to InStyle, a Cancer-Sagittarius match isn't ideal, but they can find shared ground in their spirituality and love of "discussing what they believe in." This tracks with what Schwarzenegger has said about her close bond with Pratt. "[Faith] is a huge part of our relationship," she told "Fox & Friends."
