Real Housewives' Vicki Gunvalson Reveals Daughter Nearly Died After Surgery

The reality star revealed that her daughter had a major health scare after a recent operation.

Speaking with Access Hollywood on July 10, 2017, Vicki Gunvalson told hosts Natalie Morales and Kit Hoover that her 30-year-old daughter Briana Culberson nearly died after having a surgery in Oklahoma. As Hoover recounted for the audience, surgeons reportedly used a dirty scalpel on Culberson, ultimately giving her a deadly infection.

"It almost killed my daughter," Gunvalson, 55, said. "[The scalpel was infected] with feces from the previous surgery that day they put inside her body."

The Real Housewives of Orange County star, who runs her own insurance business, continued, "So, not good, she almost lost her leg. I mean, she almost died and all this stuff."

But luckily, Culberson, who was previously diagnosed with lupus, sought medical help and was able to recover from the dangerous infection after being treated with an IV and antibiotics for three weeks, Gunvalson notes. Now, Culberson is back at home, spending time with her husband, Ryan, and her two young sons.
