America's Got Talent Winner Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. Arrested

TMZ is reporting that Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the winner of the sixth season of America's Got Talent, was arrested on Monday, July 10, 2017, for misdemeanor domestic battery and domestic assault after allegedly hitting the mother of his child with a golf club.

According to one side of the story, the fight was prompted over custody of their 6-month-old baby after Murphy told his girlfriend he was leaving her. From there, sources told TMZ that Murphy "allegedly started slapping her and then struck her under her left eye with a golf club." As the fight continued outside, Murphy "allegedly slammed her head on the sidewalk."

A manager for Murphy, meanwhile, claims he acted in self-defense after he came home and discovered his girlfriend had destroyed their house with a golf club. The girlfriend also allegedly attacked Murphy with said club, as well as a knife.

Whatever the case, TMZ says the girlfriend was treated for injuries at a hospital, after which cops booked Murphy.

He was released on $3,500 bail.
