Who Is Laurence Fishburne's Son, Langston Fishburne?

When Laurence Fishburne was 14 years old, he was cast in Francis Ford Coppola's "Apocalypse Now." He told them he was 17 at the time, but that didn't stop him from starting his acting career with a huge cinematic success. Since then Laurence has racked up over 125 acting credits and cemented his place in the American film canon. But besides being Morpheus in "The Matrix," Whitey Powers in "Mystic River," or Pops in "Black-ish," among so many other roles, he's also been a dad.

According to Amomama, Laurence has three children, Montana, Langston, and Delilah Fishburne. While he might be estranged from daughter Montana because of her career choice in the porn industry, Laurence is otherwise pretty quiet about his family life. He told HipHollywood in 2014 that he avoids discussing his personal life publicly.

Yet that hasn't stopped his son Langston Fishburne from being in the public eye. What has he been up to?

Langston is following in his father Laurence's footsteps

Even though Langston Fishburne is taking the same acting career path as his famous father Laurence Fishburne, he seems to also be staying pretty quiet on his personal life as well. His Instagram is sparse, he doesn't have a ton of interviews out there and he isn't big on social media.

Even so, Langston is a star in his own right. He started his performance career as a ballet dancer with Dance Visions and BalletRox out of Massachusetts. He attended Boston University and was an assistance dance coach on MTV's "Made" until he decided to pursue acting.

Langston Fishburne is probably best known for his role as Young Bill in "Ant-Man and the Wasp" or Armen in "Deadlock," which came out in 2021. He told 519 Magazine that his most intense role so far was Dwayne in "86 Melrose Avenue," who suffered from PTSD, but the intensity is what drew him to the character. "It is reassuring to know that the art that we're part of is actually shining a light on society and showing things that are difficult," he told the magazine. "And that needs to be seen, talked about, and exposed."

Ballet was Langston Fishburne's foray into the performing arts

Like his father Laurence Fishburne, Langston Fishburne caught the performing bug early in his life. At 17 when he started dancing, he fell in love with performing, according to 519 Magazine. "I started off as a classical ballet dancer and did that well into college," Langston told the magazine in 2021. "About 10 years ago, there was an audition for something and I was healing from an injury that I'd gotten at the time –- but I could still walk and I could still move –- so I figured why not try it? Why not give acting a go?"

He went on to tell the magazine that his mother Hajna O. Moss was a dancer in her youth too, and his stepmother Gina Torres, who is also an actor, encouraged his pursuit of performance as well. Per IMDb, Torres has appeared in numerous roles over the years, including "Suits" and its spinoff "Pearson," "Westworld," and "9-1-1: Lone Star."

Between Laurence Fishburne and his artistic mother figures, how could Langston Fishburne not shine in the family business? We look forward to seeing his career continue to blossom.
