Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules Season 2 - Here's What We Can Tell Fans So Far
We're all familiar with rags to riches stories in Hollywood, but there are lots of celebrities who are born into fame. Per Glamour UK, approximately half of Hollywood celebrities have famous parents or are associated with people who have connections in the industry. While most celebrity offspring are able to live up to their parents' expectations and blaze a trail of their own, there are those who just can't seem to attain the same levels of fame. Those celebrity kids have to rely on other outlets to make a name for themselves — as is the case with E!'s reality series, "Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules."
Per E!, the show, which premiered in January, follows eight celebrity kids as they trade in their designer clothing for cowboy hats and boots to help get Saddleback Ranch reopen after a year-long shutdown caused by COVID-19. The celebrity kids take on laborious tasks and give viewers a glimpse at their respective upbringings. The concept has been a breath of fresh air and viewers are already hoping for another season. Here's everything we know about a potential Season 2 of "Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules."
When will 'Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules' Season 2 be released?
Fans of "Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules" will have to wait a while longer for the show to return to their TV screens. Premiere Date reports that E! have yet to renew the show for a second season, meaning there's no release date set either. However, it is likely that the show will get renewed as it's the first reality show to be released after the Kardashians ended their partnership with the network in 2021.
Per Variety, the Kardashians ended their partnership with E! after 18 seasons of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" for new opportunities. They signed a massive deal with Disney's Hulu the following month. The network though has not been affected by the loss and is "entering into a new era of programming.
"The numbers are still significant and the fandom is huge," Rod Aissa, NBCUniversal Television's executive vice president of entertainment unscripted content, told the outlet. "What we're trying to do on the linear side is really play into some of those fandoms, whether it's pop culture like E!, or true crime like Oxygen."
Considering the confidence that E! has for their new slate of shows, it is likely that "Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules" will at least be renewed for another season.
Who is in the cast of 'Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules' Season 2?
If "Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules" gets renewed for a second season, it is expected that all, but one of the cast members would return as well (albeit with a new challenge). Per Distractify, the first season starred, Harry James Thornton (Billy Bob Thornton and Pietra Dawn Cherniak's son), Hana Giraldo (Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo's daughter), Austin Gunn (Billy Gunn and Tina Sopp's son), Ebie (Eazy-E's daughter), Jasmin Lawrence (Martin Lawrence and Patricia Southall's daughter), Redmond Parker (Ray Parker Jr.'s son), Taylor Hasselhoff (David Hasselhoff's daughter), Myles O'Neal (Shaunie O'Neal's son and stepson of Shaquille O'Neal).
According to E!, Myles left the series in the middle of Season 1 because he decided he wasn't cut out for life on the ranch. "I definitely was not meant to be in this environment," he said. "It's just horrible. It's all horrible and I don't like it. I don't know how much longer I can deal with it." He eventually stormed off and quit the show, making him unlikely to return for a second season — unless he is interested in doing another job in a different environment.
Are Hana Giraldo and Austin Gunn still an item?
One of the more compelling storylines in Season 1 on "Relatively Famous: Ranch Rules" was the blossoming relationship between Hana Giraldo and Austin Gunn. The two come from similar backgrounds so it's not surprising that they'd hit it off. However, things didn't work out too well for the couple, as Austin was seen flirting with another girl before the series finale, which angered Hana (via Distractify). The couple eventually made up and remained on friendly terms. Austin even said that their relationship won't become romantic anytime soon.
"I think that [the finale] is kind of where it wraps up, with how we feel about each other and so forth..." the wrestler told Distractify. "That's kind of it, really — there's nothing more to the story." The two have remained true to their words and still follow each other on Instagram. However, if they return for Season 2, it is very likely they'll pick up where they left off or try to romance other cast members. Meanwhile, fans of the show will have to wait and see if there's good news on the way for these celebrity kids.
