General Hospital Star Anne Jeffreys Dead At 94

The soap opera star has passed away.

On Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, news broke that Anne Jeffreys had died. ABC 7 reporter George Pennacchio was the first to share the news, posting a photo with the actress on Twitter.

Jeffreys was 94 years old. Details of her death are not yet known.

As The Hollywood Reporter noted, Jeffreys was best known for her roles as socialite Amanda Barrington on General Hospital (and its spinoff Port Charles) and as "the ghostess with the mostess" Marion Kerby on Topper, on which she starred opposite her husband Robert Sterling. She also starred as the mother of David Hasselhoff's character on Baywatch.

Others may remember Jeffreys for her numerous film roles. After appearing in the 1944 musical Step Lively alongside Frank Sinatra and Gloria DeHaven, she later starred in films like Dillinger (1945), Dick Tracy vs. Cueball (1946), and Riff-Raff (1947).

Our thoughts are with Jeffreys' loved ones during this difficult time.
