Charlotte Church Marries Johnny Powell In Secret Ceremony

The Voice of an Angel singer got hitched!

Charlotte Church announced her marriage to her musician boyfriend of seven years, Johnny Powell, on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017. According to E! News, the pair secretly tied the knot at the Register Office at City Hall in Cardiff, Wales on Sept. 16. Church's mother was their witness. They later held an intimate, rustic wedding ceremony in front of a handful of friends and family in the garden of their home in Dinas Powys.

The classical-turned-pop singer took to Twitter to share the exciting news with her fans, posting a snapshot of the two beaming with joy on their big day. "Seriously happy people," she wrote in the caption, complete with several heart-eyes emojis.

"Charlotte and Jonathan have been in love for a long time and a wedding was always on the cards," a source told the Daily Mail. "They wanted to keep things low key and swore all the guests to secrecy as they married under a tree." In reference to the former child star's infamous partying ways, the insider added, "Jonathan has been a great influence on Charlotte, she has calmed down a lot since she met him."

According to Entertainment Tonight, Church, 31, has been dating Powell, 30, since 2010. They couple were expecting their first child together earlier this year. However, Church sadly suffered a miscarriage in June, just one month after publicly announcing the pregnancy. "Charlotte and Johnny are very sad to announce that they lost their baby," the Welsh singer released in a statement via Twitter. "Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family. We kindly ask everyone to respect that peace." 

The "Dream a Dream" singer has two children from a previous relationship with her ex-fiancé, rugby player Gavin Henson: daughter Ruby, 10, and son Dexter, 8.
