Eminem Bashes President Donald Trump In BET Awards Freestyle

The rapper wants people to choose a side.

On Oct. 10, 2017, the BET Hip Hop Awards aired a video of Eminem (real name Marshall Mathers III) performing an impressive freestyle rap about today's politics. In the pre-taped segment, Eminem expressed his disapproval at President Donald Trump's actions, commenting on everything from Trump's reactions to the recent NFL protests to the mass shooting in Las Vegas.

"When he attacks the NFL so we focus on that / Instead of talking Puerto Rico or gun reform for Nevada," the 44-year-old rapped. "All these horrible tragedies and he's bored and would rather / Cause a twitter storm with the Packers."

Eminem also touched upon Trump's promise to lower taxes, as well as his well-documented opinion about American prisoner of war Senator John McCain. Eminem continued, "Then says he wants to lower our taxes / Then who's gonna pay for his extravagant trips / Back and forth with fam to his golf resorts and mansions?"

"Now, if you're a black athlete / You're a spoiled little brat / For tryna use your platform or your stature / To try to give those a voice who don't have one," the Detroit native went on. "He says, 'You're spittin' in the face of vets who fought for us, you b*****ds' / Unless, you're a POW who was tortured and battered / 'Cause to him, you're zeros / 'Cause he don't like his war heroes captured / That's not disrespecting the military."

Ending his freestyle, Eminem gave a message to those of his fans who support Trump. "And any fan of mine / who's a supporter of his / I'm drawing in the sand a line / you're either for or against / and if you can't decide / who you like more and you're split / on who you should stand beside / I'll do it for you with this," Eminem rapped, giving the camera the middle finger and a "F**k you," which was censored by BET.

In response to Eminem's performance, a number of celebrities have shown support, including Colin Kaepernick, LeBron James, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain, and Ellen DeGeneres, among many others.
