Legendary Musician Fats Domino Dead At 89

A pioneer of rock 'n' roll has passed away.

News station WWL-TV reports that Fats Domino (full name Antoine Domino Jr.) died surrounded by family in his home on the night of Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017. The singer and piano player was 89 years old.

According to TMZ, the Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office confirmed that Domino died of natural causes. There will be no autopsy.

The New Orleans native, who gained fame in the 1950s and 1960s, was known for hits such as "Blueberry Hill," "Ain't That a Shame," and "I'm Walkin'." In 1986, Domino was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. A year later, he received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
