Will & Grace Actor Sean Hayes Opens Up About Recent Health Scare
The TV star just revealed that he was recently hospitalized.
Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, Will & Grace's Sean Hayes explained to host Ellen DeGeneres why he had to miss his previously scheduled visit to the show just weeks earlier. "I had a very rare thing where my small intestine burst open," the 47-year-old stated. "It was poisoning my body."
After going to the hospital, Hayes said, "They went in there and they clipped off the bad part and put it back together with like, a chip clip."
"So now my potato chips are stale," he joked.
Still, despite his procedure and the medication he was placed on, Hayes said the he still wanted to make it to his originally scheduled appearance on DeGeneres' show—going so far as to speak with one of the show's producers. Luckily, his husband, Scott Icenogle, was there to talk some sense into him. "Scottie, my husband, was in the room with me," Hayes recalled. "I hung up the phone and he was like, 'What's wrong with you? You can't do the Ellen show on Monday. Are you high?' And I'm like, 'Yeah, I'm really high. Are you high?'"
Fortunately, Hayes looks to be doing much better.
