Taylor Swift Takes Fans Behind The Scenes For The Making Of 'Gorgeous'

It's not always easy to bust out a hit song.

Taylor Swift revealed the writing process for her single "Gorgeous" via AT&T's YouTube channel on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017. And, apparently, the songstress cycled through a few different batches of lyrics and combinations of notes before she settled on the finished product.

As Entertainment Weekly notes, it'd seem that Swift may have written "Gorgeous" before her dramatic split from ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris. While the finished song features the lyrics, "And I got a boyfriend, he's older than us / He's in the club doing I don't know what / You're so cool it makes me hate you so much/ I hate you so much," a previous version of the track contained the lines, "And I've got a boyfriend, he's older than us/ I haven't seen him in a couple of months/ I go through phases when it comes to love." Yet another version featured the line, "My reputation precedes both of us."

So, was this song written while Swift and Harris were together, perhaps hinting at an issue in their relationship? Maybe her upcoming album, Reputation, will give fans the answers they're looking for when it drops on Nov. 10.
