Shameless Star Ethan Cutkosky Arrested For Alleged DUI

The 18-year-old actor was taken into police custody on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017.

TMZ reports that Ethan Cutkosky, who plays Carl Gallagher on the Showtime dramedy Shameless, was arrested by cops in the Los Angeles area. The gossip rag notes that police stopped Cutkosky around 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 2, after seeing him "straddle the traffic lanes."

Burbank Police department's Sergeant Derek Green told E! News that Cutkosky was also pulled over for "unsafe speed" and "unsafe turning movement." After pulling him over, cops reportedly smelled "the distinct odor of burnt marijuana," and Cutkosky later admitted to having smoked weed that evening.

Police then began a DUI investigation and arrested Cutkosky on "suspicion of DUI (drugs)." According to Green, a chemical blood test was then performed but the results are still pending.

TMZ notes that police sources had administered field sobriety tests before arresting Cutkosky, which the actor reportedly failed.

Cutkosky was booked at Burbank City Jail but was released a short time later, having received a citation and, presumably, paying the $5,000 bail. He's slated to appear in court on Nov. 29.
