John Mayer Gives Update On Health Following Emergency Surgery

The "Daughters" singer appears to be doing well.

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, John Mayer took to social media to let his followers know how he's doing, after having had an emergency appendectomy. He also took the time to thank his fans for their love and support. "Thank you everyone for the well wishes. Had surgery yesterday and woke up to see some amazingly kind and loving tweets," he tweeted out.

Mayer apologized for having postponed Dead and Company concert dates, as a result of his health emergency. "I'm so sorry that we couldn't finish out the last few dates of the tour," he said. "This band and these shows mean the world to me. Love you all dearly."

An hour later, he shared a photo of himself on Instagram, donning a hospital gown. "Still got it," the 40-year-old wrote.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Mayer was rushed to a hospital in New Orleans, La. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, requiring an emergency appendectomy. Multiple Dead and Company tour dates were quickly postponed (via CNN).

Early in the morning of Dec. 7, Mayer tweeted again, implying that he'd received some strong pain medication. "I'm a warm, pilled-out froggy, whizzing my golf cart around the internet, doffing my wool cap to everyone I pass," Mayer wrote. "Beep beep hellllloo electric guitars let me get a look at you."
