Meagan is a freelance writer based in Brooklyn, New York. After working in public housing, she switched careers in 2015 to pursue writing full-time. She's worked on staff at W Magazine, Refinery29, and Paper Magazine, where she covered entertainment, style, and beauty, all from a critical, intersectional perspective. Meagan's work has also been published by Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and in print in the Village Voice and Chicago Reader. While it's true that pop culture is the dominant form of social expression, her love and devotion to underground scenes allow her to tie together disparate strands of communities in her writing, allowing readers to experience wider perspectives with rich context.

Meagan attended Ohio State University for two years, and while she didn't graduate, she's proof that life can be the greatest teacher — along with very patient editors.
