The Truth About Kim Kardashian And Jon Hamm's Unexpected Feud

Did you know Kim Kardashian and Jon Hamm once found themselves in a bit of a feud? Yep, they may not be two names you immediately think of when it comes to celeb dramas, but it turns out these two exchanged quite the war of words at one point.

But before we get into all that, it's probably not so much of a surprise to hear that Kardashian has her fair share of haters. The reality star's controversial rise to fame hasn't exactly sat too well with everybody, and plenty have had their say very publicly when it comes to the K family. One of Kardashian's most famous feuds has to be with none other than Taylor Swift (remember that whole he said/she said drama involving Kanye West's "Famous"?), then there was that time "Project Runway" star Tim Gunn hardly had the nicest things to say about the reality star and her family, while the likes of Piers Morgan, Chloë Grace Moretz, and Sharon Osbourne have also chimed in with some not so complimentary things about the Kardashians over the years.

And it's safe to say Hamm has certainly joined the ranks of those who haven't exactly thrown their support behind the Skims founder.

Jon Hamm called Kim Kardashian a 'f***ing idiot'

Kardashian fans may want to cover their ears for this one, because "Mad Men" star John Hamm made it very clear he's not exactly an avid "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" (or now "The Kardashians") watcher... or a "Cooking With Paris" fan for that matter. For this one, we're throwing it back to an interview Hamm did for the April 2012 issue of Elle U.K., in which he slammed modern celebrity culture. "Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f***ing idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly," he shared, noting that all the success reality TV stars have been afforded made no sense to him. Ouch.

But Kardashian wasn't about to take that diss lying down. "I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life," she tweeted in response. "We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless."

Did Jon Hamm and Kim Kardashian make up?

Despite the not so kind words that came out of Jon Hamm's mouth, it seems like he and Kim Kardashian did manage to bury the hatchet. In what could have made for a seriously awkward moment, Hamm and Kim Kardashian both made cameos on an episode "Saturday Night Live" later that month but didn't let any lingering tensions ruin the mood backstage. An E! News insider claimed Hamm turned on the charm with the reality star and they kept things very cordial when they ran into one another behind the scenes. "There's no animosity," the source revealed. Kardashian appeared to confirm that herself in a tweet about the show, as she asked, "Anyone see 30 Rock tonight??? I had a blast!!!! Love this show!"

Hamm himself also spoke out about his comments, making it clear he never meant to personally offend Kardashian, though kind of stopped short of actually saying the two hardest words in the English language; I'm sorry. "It's surprising to me that it has become remotely a story. I don't know Ms. Kardashian, I know her public persona," he told E! News of the hoopla that stemmed from his interview. "What I said was meant to be more on pervasiveness of something in our culture, not personal, but she took offense to it and that is her right."

Yeah, maybe let's file this under being a cautionary tale on thinking before you speak.
