Olivia Munn Announced As Host Of 2018 Critics' Choice Awards

The actress is slated to host a major Hollywood event.

E! News reports that Olivia Munn will host the 2018 Critics' Choice Awards in late January 2018. The Broadcast Film Critics Association and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association shared the big news on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018.

"We are absolutely thrilled to have Olivia hosting this year's ceremony, and know that she will deliver an entertaining and sharp-witted evening to everyone in the room, and the viewers at home," BFCA President Joey Berlin expressed in a statement obtained by E! News. "Beyond her skills as an actress, Olivia's work as an activist within the industry gives her a powerful voice, making her the perfect candidate to lead this night honoring the best and brightest in film and television."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Munn was one of many women to speak out against sexual harassment in the entertainment industry, calling out producer Brett Ratner, in particular.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot will be honored with the #SeeHer Award at the Critics' Choice Awards. Regarding Gadot's achievement, the Association of National Advertisers' CEO, Bob Liodice, stated, "Not only was she able to challenge stereotypes in film and find success by starring in one of the biggest blockbusters this year, she also used that success to shine a light on her own industry and push the boundaries on gender equality in real life."

The Critics' Choice Awards will air on Jan. 11, 2018, at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
