Here's What Zoe Saldaña Really Looks Like Without Makeup
It's no secret that Zoe Saldaña has spent her fair share of hours in the makeup chair for her iconic roles. A couple of her biggest acting credits to date have seen her completely transform into someone almost unrecognizable, most notably Neytiri in "Avatar" and the sequel, "Avatar: The Way of Water," as well as appearing as the completely green Gamora in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies. But while they both require a whole lot of fantasy, how do the two actually differ?
"They demand a different kind of sacrifice, but they stand very unique on their own subjective grounds. Gamora is a much more traditional approach where you wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning and you go through the whole prosthetic process," she explained to Entertainment Weekly in May of all the physical transforming that goes into the Marvel character. "And then kind of once you see yourself and you feel Gamora on you, obviously, you transform, you know?"
But while we know she's pretty much the queen of movie transformations, what does this star look like when she's not working and is having a day without the makeup chair? Spoiler alert: She's gorgeous!

Of course, being as gorgeous as she is, Zoe Saldaña isn't afraid to go sans cosmetics on social media. Proving once again that she knows how to keep it oh so real, back in January 2016 she showed off her bare face in an absolutely stunning Instagram selfie. The star leaned in to reveal her blemish-free complexion as she flashed a coy smile. She captioned it with the hashtags, "#selfie," "#nofilter," "#yikes," "#currentmood," and "#situacionactual." #Yikes!? No chance!
But that's hardly the only time Saldaña has shown off her obvious natural beauty. In April, she ditched the makeup once again as she gave her Instagram followers a peek inside her daily life at home with her kids, Bowie Ezio Perego-Saldaña, Zen Perego-Saldaña, and Cy Aridio Perego-Saldaña, who she shares with her husband, Marco Perego Saldaña. The clip began with a look at the "Crossroads" star completely bare-faced and posing in the mirror before in a crop top and jeans, before her day at home spiraled into her kids literally painting her face. Even when she's not working, it seems like this star just can't get away from having her face made up!

Proving she really is one of the most down to earth stars in the game, Zoe Saldaña is also not immune to going makeup free and showing us her goofy side all at the same time. In a video shared to Instagram in November 2021, she gave us a hilarious blooper as she attempted to film a sassy video of herself strutting around — only to trip and almost fall into a mirror. Ouchie! Somehow, though, Saldaña still looked beyond gorgeous as her natural skin still glowed even after her blunder.
She's also given us a look at what really happens after she gets she's all made up. Saldaña revealed what it's really like to have to rid herself of that notorious bright green paint that she gets covered in to play Gimora on Instagram back in January, as a video showed her attempting to get clean quicker than a rat taking a shower. Yes, you read that correctly. The clip showed her scrubbing her green skin clean alongside the caption, "Bye #Gamora[.] See you next week." She also added a jokey GIF that read, "under coat removal time." Yep, Kermit the Frog said it best. It's not easy being green.
