Inside Khloe Kardashian's Relationship With Malika Haqq
Anyone keeping up knows that the Kardashians often feature their friends and staff members on episodes of their reality shows. Jonathan Cheban (aka "Foodgod") is one of Kim Kardashian's best pals and regularly appears on set alongside the Skims founder. From going incognito together on the streets of LA to supporting Kim after she was robbed at gunpoint, Cheban has stuck by Kim's side through thick and thin. Another one of Kim's good friends is MTV star La La Anthony. The two have been close for years, and Anthony told ET that she leaned on Kim during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
Kim isn't the only one whose inner circle has been documented on the show. Kylie Jenner and Jordyn Woods were pretty much a package deal until their epic falling out in 2019 over Woods' hookup with Tristan Thompson. (At the time, Thompson was dating Jenner's half-sister, Khloé Kardashian). These days, Jenner has traded in Woods for Anastasia Karanikolaou, whom she's known since her early teen years, according to Hola. The pair even have matching tattoos in honor of Jenner's daughter, Stormi, per Elle.
Other influencers and celebs are close with the Kar-Jenner clan. But perhaps the most epic friendship award goes to Khloé and Malika Haqq, who have been besties for over half their lives.
How Khloé Kardashian and Malika Haqq hit it off
Before the rise of the Kar-Jenner dynasty, there was Khloé Kardashian and Malika Haqq. The duo met when they were both around 15 years old because Haqq was dating one of Kardashian's friends at the time. "He would always keep us apart because I am sure he knew we would just hit it off," the Good American founder wrote on her defunct blog (via Cosmopolitan). "One day, we met, and we did. Malika and [Malika's twin] Khadijah have been my best friends ever since." For timeline proof, check out this throwback of Kardashian and Haqq with baby faces, blue eyeshadow, and crimped hair!
In addition to being good friends with Kardashian, Haqq worked as her personal assistant up to 2012 (per Life & Style), quitting to focus on her own career. According to her IMDb, she previously landed roles in 2006's "ATL" and 2008's "20 Years After." Even though Haqq and Kardashian no longer work together, the besties still collaborate on projects, like their joint makeup collection with Becca Cosmetics in 2018. "We're best friends, so what's better than doing a project together? To do something so monumental, I wanted to experience it with my best friend," Kardashian told Allure.
Khloé Kardashian and Malika Haqq have each other's backs
With a decades-long friendship under their designer belts, Khloé Kardashian and Malika Haqq are each other's ride-or-die — and don't expect that to change! In 2015, Haqq's rapper ex Chinx was killed in a drive-by shooting, and it was Kardashian who showed up to comfort her. "It's hurtful and sad, and sometimes you'll cry, and you have to keep going," the mother-of-one told her friend during an episode of Dash Dolls (via Metro). Years later, Haqq had happier news to share with the birth of her son, Ace. Despite Haqq splitting with Ace's father, rapper O.T. Genasis, Kardashian threw her friend an extravagant baby shower in celebration. "My beautiful, beautiful nephew!!!! Ace, we have been waiting for you," she commented on Haqq's Instagram post announcing Ace's birth (per Entertainment Tonight).
Haqq has also been there for Kardashian during some of her toughest moments. After Tristan Thompson cheated on her days before the birth of her daughter True, Haqq posted a sweet tribute to her friend on Twitter, reminding her that she was right by her side. Then, in 2019, Haqq blasted Kylie Jenner's then-BFF Jordyn Woods for hooking up with Thompson. "These h**s ain't loyal," she commented on a meme of Jenner's daughter Stormi waving goodbye to Woods. Additionally, Hollywood Unlocked posted a video explaining that their source was in the room when Woods and Thompson kissed, prompting Haqq to back up the claim. "STRONG FACTS," she commented.
