1000-Lb Best Friends Season 2 Release Date, Cast, And More Information

TLC's "1000-lb Best Friends" is the uplifting show we didn't know we needed. Four women — Vannessa Cross, Tina Arnold, Meghan Crumpler, and Ashley Sutton — all share their journey with weight-loss on the reality show. TLC knows how to chronicle these kinds of experiences. We've come to know and love Tammy and Amy Slaton from "1000-lb Sisters" as they discuss their own childhoods and dreams of the future. In fact, Tammy even dished on romance and revealed that she's pansexual.

"1000-lb Best Friends" offers an equally intimate glimpse into the lives of these women as they try to lose weight. Doing it together makes it that much easier. "It's brought us closer, because not everybody gets to film with their best friend and share their life with the world," Crumpler told People. "But we've also always just been extremely close." By the end of Season 1, Cross lost enough weight to qualify for bariatric surgery. Since this was such exciting news, fans are obviously psyched about Season 2. Here's what viewers can expect.

When will 1000-lb Best Friends premiere on TLC?

TLC announced that Season 2 of "1000-lb Best Friends" will premiere on January 4, 2023, according to Distractify, and promises the return of the four women we've grown so fond of: Ashley Sutton, Vanessa Cross, Meghan Crumpler, and Tina Arnold.

The TLC teaser read, "BFFs Vannessa, Meghan, Tina and Ashely return with heart, humor and waistline struggles as they come together to celebrate the highs and also, battle obesity's lows in an all new season" (via TVFanatic). It went on to give plot points for fans and what they can expect on the newest season. Crumpler wants to continue planning her wedding, but a house flood proves challenging. It also notes that she and Arnold are facing some stress in their friendship. Cross, who was the weight-loss champion of Season 1, worries about her son and his growing weight, while Sutton is still hoping to lose enough weight to get approved for gastric bypass surgery.

How are the cast members preparing for Season 2?

The leading ladies of TLC's "1000-lb Best Friends" have been candid about their feelings on returning for Season 2. Ashley Sutton took to Instagram on November 14, writing, "My b**ches and I are baaaaack! Super excited to announce that season two of 1,000lb Best Friends will premiere on January 4."

On the same day, Vanessa Cross shared a playful selfie on Instagram and added the caption, "Going crazy season two y'all!!!! I'm so happy." She tagged her three co-stars. Meghan Crumpler kept her Instagram focused on cats and her jewelry collection, but she's no doubt preparing for the big Season 2 debut, too.

Meanwhile, Tina Arnold has been posting tasty pics of her healthy meal choices as a nice reminder to fans that she's still in the game. "I could eat salmon everyday for the rest of my life," she captioned a photo. All of the women have to keep some degree of confidentiality around their current weight loss, but it's evident that they've been hard at work. Cross has shared only selfies of her face, but it's clear she's thinner since having her surgery. "I can tell in your face that you have lost a lot of weight!! So excited for the next season," one fan wrote. "Vanessa you look amazing," another person added. We can't wait to see what they bring to Season 2.
