The Movie That Brought Macaulay Culkin And Brenda Song Together

Before actors Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin went public with their relationship in 2017, most people would have never even thought to put the two together. Although both were child stars, Culkin became an icon for his lead role in the "Home Alone" series. The "Party Monster" actor would continue his acting career on and off as he grew up. Meanwhile, Song was a total Disney Channel kid, starring in popular shows like "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody" and the movie "Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior."

The Disney darling described to Entertainment Tonight in 2019 how she was first able to relate to Culkin through their shared upbringing. "It's almost like child actors ... don't even have to talk about it," Song explained. "You just look each other in the eye and you nod and we know."

The world has completely fallen in love with the unexpected couple, who welcomed their first child, Dakota, in 2021. But many don't know that they actually fell for each other on a film set.

Sparks flew between Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin on the set of Changeland

Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song first collaborated when they were both cast in the 2019 film "Changeland." According to Variety, filming began in Thailand — where Song's ancestry actually originates — during the summer of 2017. The former Disney actor portrayed a tour boat guide, while Culkin was the "half-drunk tour boat operator," according to IMDb.

"Changeland" was written and directed by comedy actor and writer Seth Green, who also cast the future couple. "I didn't see that one coming," Green told Esquire in 2020. Apparently, there was also some slight hesitation at the beginning of their relationship. "Mack worried that when they started dating, Brenda might have thought he was still in that world — touring with a weird band, hopping into cars with strangers, playing handball in his apartment late at night," Green recalled to the publication. "He is not that person anymore, of course."

After the movie wrapped, the couple was spotted out together in 2017, per Insider. And the rest is history! "It's great!" Song gushed about their relationship to Us Weekly in 2018. "I don't like to talk about my personal life, but everything's wonderful and I'm happy."

Macaulay Culkin and Brenda Song continue to collaborate

Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin are giving the people what they want by appear in more projects together. One of "The Suite Life on Deck" actor's latest hits is her leading role in Hulu's "Dollface" alongside Kat Dennings and Shay Mitchell. Culkin actually made a guest appearance on his girlfriend's show during Season 1 Episode 6, called "History Buff," in 2019.

On November 22, the new parents also shared a paid promotion on Instagram for Star Wars (above), where they play "rock, paper, scissors... LIGHTSABER" to decide who has to get out of bed to soothe their crying baby. "Kevin McCallister vs. London Tipton," one fan wrote under the post, referencing the pair's most iconic roles.

The couple must be raking in a lot of dough because Song and Culkin purchased an $8 million Los Angeles mansion with five bedrooms and six bathrooms in August. Between the two prolific actors, those royalty checks must be pretty sweet.
