Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Reveal Special Guests On Wedding List

The pair just announced more details about their upcoming nuptials.

People reports that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who are set to marry in May 2018, are inviting over 2,500 people to Windsor Castle to witness their big day. In a press release obtained by the magazine on Friday, March 2, 2018, Kensington Palace revealed, "They want their wedding day to be shaped so as to allow members of the public to feel part of the celebrations too."

The statement continued, "This wedding, like all weddings, will be a moment of fun and joy that will reflect the characters and values of the bride and groom."

According to People, Harry and Markle have invited 2,640 members of the public to help celebrate their wedding. A number of guests will be nominated to attend from the nine offices of the Lord Lieutenants, otherwise known as the Queen's representatives. Other guests will include young leaders and people who've served their communities.

Additionally, about 200 guests have been invited from charities like WellChild and the Invictus Games, and 100 guests from local schools will also attend.

Of course, given that it's a royal wedding, that's not even the whole guest list. People notes that 610 people who live on castle grounds will also attend the highly anticipated event, as well as 530 members of the Royal Household and the Crown Estate.

However, these invitees are only expected to watch Harry and Markle as they enter and exit St. George's Chapel, where the ceremony is being held (via CNN). It's not yet known who will be present for the actual service.

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Harry and Markle announced their engagement in late November 2017. The couple later announced via a press release from Kensington Palace that their wedding would be held at George's Chapel, Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018.

While further details about the royal wedding have been largely kept under wraps, it's suspected that the Spice Girls may perform at the big event, as Mel B hinted as much during an appearance on The Real.
