Rick Ross Recovers At Home After Hospitalization
The rapper is enjoying being back home.
On Thursday, March 8, 2018, Rick Ross gave fans an update on his health, following his recent stay in the hospital. Taking to Instagram, the 42-year-old, whose real name is William Leonard Roberts II, shared a black-and-white photo of himself, writing in the caption, "Ain't nothing like home 🙏🏼." He added, "I love y'all," signing the post with his initials, "WLR."
In the photo, he wears a jacket with "Black Bottle Boy" printed on the back and holds a bottle of Luc Belaire Rosé, a brand for which he's the spokesperson (via Us Weekly).
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Ross was found unresponsive in his Florida home in the early morning of Thursday, March 1. According to a Davie Police Department report, someone had called 911 after unsuccessfully attempting to wake him up. The caller noted that Ross had been "slobbing out the mouth" and had just been "nodding his head."
When emergency officials arrived at the scene, Ross reportedly became "combative" with the authorities. Still, he'd been transported to a hospital via ambulance. TMZ later reported that Ross, who'd been taken to a second hospital during his health crisis, had been having heart problems and had been placed in the ICU, where he was hooked up to an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation machine (ECMO) — a kind of life support for the respiratory system and heart.
Ross was later released from the hospital on Monday, March 5.
