How 90 Day Fiance's David Toborowsky Lost So Much Weight

TLC's hit reality series "90 Day Fiancé" may be known for being full of drama and fake storylines, but despite some of the questionable connections on the show, the "90 Day Fiancé" divorce rate is lower than you'd think. Plenty of "90 Day" couples have withstood the test of time, despite fans' skepticism, and have managed to build happy lives together, both in the U.S. and abroad. One such star couple is David and Annie Toborowsky. Yes, there's a 24-year age gap between them and they got engaged just 10 days after meeting in a Thai karaoke bar, per ScreenRant, but David and Annie's relationship today is incredibly strong. Despite initially raising plenty of eyebrows, they're now a fan-favorite and have landed on a number of "90 Day" spinoffs — and were even offered their very own show, "David & Annie: After the 90 Days."

The pair, who now call Scottsdale, Arizona home, returned to the network in December 2022 for the show's second season and fans immediately noticed David's slimmed down figure. However, his dramatic weight loss didn't happen overnight. Rather, it's something the reality TV star and his wife have been pursuing together since 2021 and he's the first to admit it hasn't been an easy journey. Here's how David Toborowsky lost all that weight.

How David Toborowsky dropped 10 pant sizes

Back in February 2022, David Toborowsky shared a glowing photo (above) of him and Annie taking in an Arizona sunset. In addition to their obvious happiness, David's slimmer frame was also on full display and fans were impressed. "David you look wonderful," enthused one follower, while another wrote, "David you are looking amazing." Indeed the "90 Day" alum had dropped a whopping 10 pant sizes. Sharing the secret to his success with Us Weekly, the reality TV star said he started hitting the gym regularly and choosing healthier foods. However, he admitted it's not always easy. "It's a slow progress," he said. "I didn't gain it quickly and I'm not gonna lose it quickly."

Sharing some of his go-to meals, David revealed he might start the day with a tasty breakfast sandwich of turkey bacon and low-fat cheese. Then, for lunch or dinner, he often opts for a salad or low-carb wrap, plus he drinks plenty of water throughout the day. Even so, he does indulge occasionally. "I'm not perfect with it," he shared. "Because if you go to a Mexican restaurant, you can't just not eat a chip." Having Annie's support was also key and she joined him on his journey shedding six sizes herself. She's also the one who keeps him honest and stops him from snacking at night. "I will look at the refrigerator if he tries to open [it] after dinner," Annie laughed. "Close the refrigerator and go back to bed with an empty stomach!"

David Toborowsky is sticking with his healthy lifestyle

David Toborowsky will be the first to admit that losing weight isn't easy, but it's worth it. As he told Us Weekly in December, he's sticking with his healthier lifestyle because he wants to better enjoy his time with Annie and make sure he's around for years to come. "I want be around a lot longer for Annie," he explained. In addition to eating better, he's also embraced the power of vitamins and walking. One of his secret weapons is to take a solo walk in the morning, then go back to the park in the afternoon with Annie. "I lost a lot of weight when I went to Thailand the first time in 2013 and I said, 'I can do it again," he shared of his motivation. "Walking is critical."

It's working. As David told the outlet, he lost 70 pounds and was feeling great. "I can see my toes again," he joked. "It's been kinda exciting." Even so, he's faced his share of hurdles. "[The] thing is I love to eat," he admitted. "I love trying different types of foods." And so, the trick is to embrace fresh, nutrient-packed dishes. As the couple showed off on the 2020 TLC digital spinoff, "Spice It Up with David and Annie," they love to cook and prepare tasty dishes like Thai basil chicken with loads of spicy chili, spring rolls with shrimp and pork, and zesty green papaya salad. Yum!
