What Happened To Leuh And Justin After Catfish?

Ahhh, "Catfish." That notorious MTV show that exposes those mysterious strangers we meet online who suspiciously usually shy away from ever FaceTiming or meeting up in person because they're just not who they claim to be. The reality show first debuted back in 2012 with Nev Schulman and Max Joseph as hosts, before Kamie Crawford took on permanent hosting duties in 2020.

But while it may seem like all "Catfish" situations end in heartbreak for the one being duped, the series has shown us that there can actually be more to it than that. In some cases, the Catfishee has ended up still forging a relationship with the Catfisher despite their deception. One of the most fan-loved cases of that? Season 5's Leuh Terrigino and Justin Croom. The 2016 episode saw Terrigino chatting with Justin via Instagram, only to find out she's not the only one girl who thinks she's in a relationship with him. A nice twist though? Unlike many cases, Justin was actually who he said he was! Leuh went all the way to California from New York to confront him about ghosting her and standing her up, and the two actually patched things up though despite Justin's many excuses as to why he could never meet her in person. The episode left off with a three-month check-in that confirmed they were giving things a go in the real world (via Tamara Tattles). Hurrah!

But what's going on with these two today?

Leuh Terrigino and Justin Croom dated for a while after Catfish

While many "Catfish" subjects go their separate ways after the show exposes what's really been going on, Leuh Terrigino and Justin Croom actually went on to date for a while after the show. Per TheCinemaholic, the two were a couple for a little while after finally meeting and even often shared gushing messages for one another and sweet photos across social media. In May 2016, Terrigino confirmed via Twitter that she'd followed through with the promise she made on "Catfish" and upped her life from New York to California to be with Croom. She shared a sweet snap of them cuddling, writing, "moving across the country has been hard, but well worth it. i love you @j_crooom."

But things fizzled soon after that. By December 2016, it was all off for the "Catfish" couple, with Terrigino confirming their split on Twitter. "[I've] learned so much in this past year but most importantly is that you cant turn an internet man slut into a boyfriend..," she wrote on the social media site, though it seems like the two ended things on good terms. Croom even replied to the post, "I'm a peacock you gotta let me fly," to which Terrigino responded, "just a pea........" alongside a winking emoji with its tongue out. The following year, Terrigino appeared to address speculation she may have gotten back together with Croom when she tweeted, "no, we are not together," which he retweeted.

Leuh Terrigino went international after Catfish

Despite Leuh Terrigino's split from Justin Croom, it seemed she didn't trade the west coast back for the east. She stayed in California after breaking up with Groom, with an August 2022 Instagram post showing of some of her memories from San Diego. But Terrigino has the travel bug. She revealed in July 2022 she'd been heading to Europe for a while, writing alongside three Instagram photos of herself looking out at the ocean, "3 more weeks left in San Diego and then I'm on my way to Marseille, France for a year. So grateful for all the friends and memories I've made here over the past 4 years, what a wild ride it's been. On to the next adventure!" As of January 2023, her bio lists her location as Aix-en-Provence. As for her relationship status today? Terrigino doesn't appear to have shared a significant other on her grid, though she is keeping fans updated with all the fun she's been having in France via her Instagram Stories.

As for Croom, he's shunned the spotlight a little more and keeps his Instagram account set to private, but revealed in his bio that he's still in California at Newport Beach. While his Twitter account is still public, it's been inactive since 2018. Over on his Facebook page, his relationship status is actually listed as divorced since February 2016 (though is seems like that could well be a jokey nod to his time on "Catfish").
