What Happened Between Dave Bautista And Ex-Wife Sarah Jade?
After just four years of marriage, "Glass Onion" star Dave Bautista and his third wife, Sarah Jade, parted ways back in 2019. Our question — Just what happened to tear these lovebirds apart?
To refresh, Bautista and Jade married back in 2015. At the time, Bautista tweeted a sweet snap of him and his new bride shortly after their ceremony wrapped up. "@DaveBautista and @SarahJadePole Bautista," he captioned the image, alongside a heart emoji. In wake of the news, Closer Weekly reported that though the couple had only just tied the knot, they'd been together for several years — however, the outlet didn't share too many further details on that. Either way, the nuptials were warmly received by the couple's loved ones. "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn took to Facebook to gush over the festivities and the newlyweds themselves. "Great friends, an amazing couple, and a beautiful ceremony," he mused. Bautista's former WWE co-star, Titus O'Neil was similarly enamored in his Instagram post commemorating the wedding, calling the new Mrs. Bautista "An Absolute Gem of a Woman."
Given all the support the couple received, it certainly seemed as though Bautista's complicated personal life was finally headed for some stability. However, that turned out not to be the case. In 2019, reports that they had split began swirling — undoubtedly egged on by a note by Tampa Bay Times that Bautista's latest tattoo at the time covered Jade's name. So, our question remains: What happened?

Several years since reports first suggested Dave Bautista and Sarah Jade had split up, neither party has shared what led to their divorce. All Bautista has volunteered is that he should have known better than to get the aforementioned tattoo he's since covered up: her name on his ring finger. In a sit-down with GQ, he laughed, "My mom always said, 'Don't put a woman's name on you,' and I didn't listen. And so here they are, cover-ups — but, you know, you live and you learn."
Further than that, figuring out what really prompted their breakup takes a little sleuthing — and all signs seem to point at Bautista's career being his number one priority. Reason being? Speaking of the relationship he's in today, Bautista told Men's Health that he's finally found someone who can relate to his Hollywood schedule. He's previously admitted to Comicbook that at least one of his marriages ended because of said schedule, acknowledging, "We still remain friends, but just never being home just tore our marriage apart." In light of that, it only makes sense that he's reveling in his new relationship with a love interest who also works in the movie business.
As for Jade, she's stayed mum on the divorce. To date, her only comment came in the form of a reply to an Instagram comment, asking what happened. "Not trying to be an a**hole here, but life goes on," she wrote.
...But whatever happened, Sarah Jade is over being questioned
Without a doubt, the reason we don't know more about Dave Bautista and Sarah Jade's divorce is because the former couple prefers it that way. And, while Bautista has been a little more open about the fact that they split, it seems as though Jade is pretty serious about keeping her love life private.
In the same Instagram comment where she told fans that life went on, post-divorce, she also made a request that people refrain from talking about her relationships — if not at all, then definitely under her posts. "If you guys wanna discuss my personal life. Feel free to do so privately," she implored. A little over a year later, she was even less impressed by the commentary. In March 2021, she shared a picture of herself kissing a boyfriend on the cheek — earning the comment, "Last man standing," from one Instagram user. Jade's response? "Yes totally I blow thru them...had 2 whole relationships in 14 years," she clapped back.
There's a good chance we'll never know all the ins and outs of Dave Bautista and Sarah Jade's split. Whatever went down, we're wishing both of them the best.
