Teen Mom's Maci Bookout Files For Order Of Protection Against Ex Ryan Edwards

Maci Bookout is taking legal action.

The Teen Mom star filed for an order of protection against her ex Ryan Edwards on Friday, March 30, 2018, following his recent arrest, Entertainment Tonight reports.

According to court documents obtained by the website, both Bookout and her husband, Taylor McKinney, filed their orders of protection with the Hamilton County Circuit Court. Bookout's filing included herself as well as her three children: son Bentley, 9, with whom she shares with Edwards, and daughter Jayde, 2, and son Maverick, 1, with whom she shares with McKinney.

A judge will hear their cases on Monday, April 2.

"She absolutely guards the kids. Maci will always protect the kids as she should and needs to," a source told Us Weekly around the time of the filing. "There was a good deal of the discussion at the [Teen Mom OG] reunion [which was taped earlier that month] about her protecting the kids from Ryan."

As Nicki Swift previously reported, Edwards, 30, was arrested at his Tennessee home on Tuesday, March 27, for allegedly violating his probation from a previous heroin possession charge. He was released on $5,000 bond later that evening.

His wife, Mackenzie Standifer, later came to her husband's defense. "Possession of heroin was the original charge from April before he went to rehab. Part of his case was he had to be booked. Everything is fine," she told Radar Online, adding, "He took a drug test yesterday and passed."

Edwards' arrest came just one day after it was announced that he and Standifer, 21, are expecting their first child together. The couple had secretly married in May 2017, just before Edwards went to rehab for drug abuse. Prior to entering the program, he had been filmed on the MTV series falling asleep at the wheel while on the way to his wedding.

"I made the decision to check myself into a rehabilitation facility," he released in a statement after completing his 30-day stint (via Us Weekly). "I am back home now doing well, and life could not be better. Without the support of my wife and parents, I would not have been able to do this. Thank you all for your well wishes."
