Marc Jacobs Is Engaged To Boyfriend Char Defrancesco

Marc Jacobs just set the bar high for proposals.

On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, the fashion designer took to Instagram to announce his engagement to boyfriend Char Defrancesco. 

But this was no ordinary proposal. Jacobs organized a flash mob surprise for his longtime beau at a Chipotle restaurant in New York City. Just as the epic choreographed dance — which was set to "Kiss" by Prince — ended, he got down on one knee. The crowd cheered the cute couple on as he popped the question. And, of course, Defrancesco said yes!

"And this happened... 'Charly Defrancesco will you marry me?' #flashmobatchipotle #moves," the 54-year-old wrote, captioning a video of the adorable moment. "THANK YOU everyone for making this happen video."

He sweetly concluded the post with, "And to my Ride or Die fiancé @chardefrancesco I LOVE YOU❤️."

Defrancesco, who also celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, couldn't help but gush over the proposal on social media. "GET READY FOR THE ALL TIME GAG!!!!!" he wrote, sharing the same clip on Instagram. "Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen." Earlier in the day, Jacobs had called him "the love of my life" in a birthday message.

As a rep for Chipotle told The Blast, "We were as surprised as anyone to see this happen in our restaurant, and were thrilled be the backdrop for Marc and Charly's engagement. We wish them all the best!"

According to Time, Jacobs and Defrancesco, who is a high-end candlemaker and model, have been together for a few years. They currently reside together in the West Village in Manhattan.
