It's a historical first, and there's renewed interest in the Kelce family, especially Jason, who is considered a hero in his adopted home of Philly.
Jason won the hearts of Philadelphia fans for his offensive talent on the field and his charism off the field. In 2018 he cemented his place in Philly history by giving a tear-inducing speech after the Eagles' Superbowl win on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, per CBS. "We were a bunch of underdogs, and you know what an underdog is? It's a hungry dog," he said. "Bottom line is: We wanted it more. All the players, all the coaches. Everyone wanted it more, and that's why we're up here today, and that's why we're the first Eagles team to hold the trophy," he continued. Jason and Kylie had a modern romance
So often, we hear stories of NFL players meeting their future spouse in college (think Eli Manning) and sticking together through their early NFL days, only to tie the knot when they make it big. However, that's not the case with Kylie McDevitt and Jason Kelce. The pair met when Kelce was already well-established in his career, and their romance was very ordinary. Unlike his brother, Travis Kelce, who was linked to Kayla Nicole, a model, and influencer, Jason seemed to want something more down-to-earth.
Jason ended up meeting his future wife in the most relatable way possible: on Tinder. "Thank goodness you swiped right too," McDevitt captioned a 2015 Instagram photo of the two of them. They tied the knot in 2018 in a lavish wedding ceremony. According to Philly Mag, around 170 of their nearest and dearest were in attendance for the big day. The guest of honor, though, was McDevitt and Jason's beloved Irish Wolfhound, Winnie.
McDevitt posted a sweet note to Jason on her Instagram on the one-year anniversary of their very modern romance. "One year ago today we stood in front of our closest friends and family and vowed our love and commitment to each other," she wrote. "I am so beyond grateful that I get to share my life with this man. Happy one year J!"
Kylie's life is a balancing act
Not long after tying the knot, Kylie McDevitt announced that she and Jason Kelce were expecting their first child. In October 2019, they welcomed a baby girl they named Wyatt Elizabeth, per Philadelphia Eagles. By all accounts, McDevitt is smitten with her growing family. Her Instagram is littered with photos of her daughters with sweet captions like "My heart," and "My valentines." A couple of years later, they welcomed another daughter, Elliote, and as of this publication are expecting their third girl in February 2023, per People.
While supporting her husband in a career that means he's often on the road and being a soon-to-be mom to three is enough for most, McDevitt still makes time for herself. Though she's very private on social media and stays away from the limelight, we know that when she wants to blow off steam to turn to sports, just like her hubby. They probably bonded over that at the beginning of their relationship, as McDevitt was a college athlete. "One of the best decisions I've ever made was to become a part of the Cabrini Field Hockey family," she wrote on Instagram. "The experience gave me memories and friendships that will last a lifetime."
