She majored in Spanish and Political Science, earning her Bachelor's degree in Arts and Sciences. She also has a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA). She currently works at IBM as an AI Partner.
Burrows made the Dean's List and honor roll while she was at the University of Alabama, per Clutch Points, and she was a part of the Golden Key International Honour Society, one of the top collegiate honors societies in the nation. She has also won multiple awards for her academics and she was in the running to be Alabama's Homecoming Queen in 2016, per AL.

She was clearly passionate about improving the student experience during her college days, as The Culverhouse College of Business at the University of Alabama featured her on its Twitter for her efforts. "MBA student Bryonna Burrows, our next #WomenofCulverhouse feature, is a passionate advocate for advancing student life on campus and continues to lead by serving as vice president of the MBA Association and captain of the national award-winning MBA Case Team," they wrote back in 2018, referring to her work with the Association of MBAs.
Burrows was also clearly very successful academically during her college days. Prior to being featured on the social media pages of the business side of things, she was acknowledged by the University of Alabama's main Twitter account during Honors week. Speaking about how much it meant to her to have all her hard work highlighted, Burrows, who went by Rivera Burrows, shared, "No words to describe the humble reminder of Honors Day at #UA.
