Is Mr. Beast In A Relationship?
Mr. Beast is known for showing the love to his fans through his epic giveaways, but when it comes to his private life, we can't help but wonder: Does he have a special someone?
As fans of the YouTuber likely know, until fairly recently, Mr. Beast was in a relationship with influencer Maddy Spidell. However, after months of speculation, Spidell finally confirmed their split during the 2022 holiday season. In an Instagram post shared on New Year's Eve, Spidell hinted that the breakup had taken place around a year prior and that she'd been devastated at the time. To date, we're still not exactly sure what happened between the former lovebirds, and given how much time has passed, we're not expecting to hear the tea. Plus, as Spidell revealed on her Instagram in October 2022, she's already moved on with a new boyfriend, whose name (and full face) have yet to be revealed to the public.
Having said that, Spidell moving on has us wondering if her YouTube sensation ex has done the same. So, has Mr. Beast moved on ... and is he dating anyone right now?
That would be a 'yes'
In September 2022, Mr. Beast revealed that he was, indeed, dating someone new. Enter, Thea Booysen.
In an episode of the "Flagrant" podcast, Mr. Beast shared that he met his girlfriend when a planned trip to Antarctica went south. Or, rather, didn't go far enough south. After the entire base where he, Logan Paul, and the rest of their squad were scheduled to visit and shoot a video at caught COVID, they had to stay at their stopover, instead: South Africa. However, the inconvenience soon turned into a playground for fate. "I was just out having dinner with a friend, and then her friend, who's my current girlfriend, just stopped by ... and, like, within five seconds, I was like, 'Holy s**t, this girl is beautiful!'" Granted, beauty was just part of her charm. As Mr. Beast joked, he soon went through his list of non-negotiables to see if they were right for each other. Luckily for both of them, she passed the test with flying colors.
In an interview of her own on the "Wide Awake" podcast, Booysen laughed about said test, and noted that even though she didn't realize he was going through a checklist at the time, his questions piqued her interest, too. "The fact that he could keep up with the conversation, to me, was very attractive, because you have to have a certain amount of interest and intellect to want to talk about these things," she gushed. Talk about a perfect match!
But the distance has posed some challenges
Meeting on an unexpectedly extended stopover certainly sounds like the start of a sweet rom-com, but that's not to say it doesn't come with some logistical issues. After all, as Mr. Beast explained on the "Flagrant" podcast, a flight from North Carolina to Cape Town averages about 30 hours. In other words, not ideal — especially because Thea Booysen didn't have a U.S. Visa when they started seeing each other.
However, logistics aside, Mr. Beast joked that, if anything, him flying out fairly regularly to see her is a pretty clear indicator of his feelings. "This is how you know I'm into her ... because, like, a 30-hour flight there, and a 30-hour flight back is f***ing crazy!" he said. Ultimately, the lovebirds figured out a way to get her an earlier visa application slot and Booysen was able to head Stateside. Mr. Beast did caution that they were still trying to figure out how they'd be able to see each other throughout the year and over the holidays on her visa, but based on Booysen's Instagram, that doesn't seem to have been a problem. In fact, since April 2022, she has flown over to spend time with him at many an important event, like the 2022 Kids' Choice Awards, and 2023's Super Bowl LVII.
Here's hoping that these two keep going the distance — in more ways than one.
