Why Jennifer Lawrence Didn't Like Kissing Bradley Cooper

Imagine that you go to work knowing that your job will require you to kiss a coworker, regardless of how the two of you feel about each other personally. For many actors working in Hollywood, this is their reality, and they don't just have to fret over the awkwardness of locking lips with someone they might only have a professional relationship with; there's also a possibility that their kissing scene partner will publicly mouth off about what it was like making out with them. And in a number of cases, actors have complained about how much they hated kissing certain co-stars.

Jennifer Lawrence is an example of a celeb who will share every cringeworthy detail when discussing her kissing scenes. During a 2013 appearance on "Live with Kelly and Michael," Lawrence seemed determined to make the audience queasy while reminiscing about kissing co-star Josh Hutcherson in the movie "Catching Fire." She revealed that Hutcherson's face was already wet with drool from co-star Sam Claflin, who had just filmed a resuscitation scene with him. Meanwhile, Lawrence had snot on her face because the emotional moment called for her to be crying. "On my phone, I have a video of the longest [snot] string that you've ever seen, and it was unbreakable," she boasted. "It was made of like, Spiderman webs."

According to her "Silver Linings Playbook" co-star Bradley Cooper, Lawrence also found that there was far too much fluid involved when they locked lips.

Jennifer Lawrence revealed that Bradley Cooper is just wet in general

In a 2013 appearance on "The Graham Norton Show," Bradley Cooper shared the review Jennifer Lawrence gave him after they kissed in "Silver Linings Playbook," even though it was less-than-flattering. "After the second take she said, 'You're a wet kisser,'" Bradley confessed (via Hollywood Life). "You don't want to hear that. It was not a compliment." But there was a silver lining: The smooch looked so incredible on camera that it won the award for best kiss at the MTV Movie Awards.

The sizeable amount of spit Cooper can produce did not stop Lawrence from going all out for their steamy scenes. In a 2015 appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," Lawrence told Andy Cohen that there's always some tongue involved. "That's normal, right? Or am I, like, a perverted co-star?" she said (via ET). She was also much kinder when rating Cooper's mastery of the fine art of French kissing, calling it "fantastic."

The frequent collaborators went on to share a passionate kiss in the 2014 movie "Serena," further proving that Lawrence has no qualms about swapping spit with Cooper. And this was after she made additional complaints about his moisture levels during their "Silver Linings" dance classes. "His butt would start sweating and I'm like, 'Is your butt sweating before your armpits are sweating?'" Lawrence recalled to KISS Breakfast. But isn't achieving that level of perspiring inspiring, rather than a stain on Cooper's sex symbol rep?

Jennifer Lawrence compared Bradley Cooper's kissing capabilities to those of another co-star

When Jennifer Lawrence appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in March 2018, she was asked which co-star was the superior kisser, Bradley Cooper or Liam Hemsworth. Lawrence chose Cooper, even though she once revealed on "Watch What Happens Live" that she made out with Hemsworth when they weren't filming together. During a game of "Plead the Fifth," she said in her defense, "Liam's real hot."

When Lawrence and Hemsworth's lip-locking was being filmed, apparently Lawrence made sure that the experience was not one that her "Hunger Games" costar would want to replicate. "If we had a kissing scene, she would make a point of eating garlic or tuna fish or something that was disgusting," Hemsworth told "The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon. He revealed that Lawrence would inform him that she hadn't brushed her teeth, but at least she had the courtesy to warn him about what was on the menu.

When Access asked Lawrence about Hemsworth's remarks, she fessed up to neglecting her oral hygiene for kissing scenes with him and Josh Hutcherson. Cooper should thank his lucky stars that he's among the actors whom Lawrence would never snog right after scarfing down a smelly snack. "[For] Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, yeah, I'll brush my teeth," she revealed. "I'll pop a mint." Hemsworth agreed that Batman deserves minty-fresh breath. "Look, if I was kissing Christian Bale I probably would have brushed my teeth too," he said.
