What Really Happened Between Tori Spelling And Brian Austin Green?

Thanks to their roles on "Beverly Hills, 90210" as Donna Martin and David Silver, Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green were two of the hottest stars of the '90s. Of course, if you've ever seen the teen cult hit, you'll know the duo played young love interests and even (spoiler alert!) got married in the 2000 season finale after Donna ditched her boyfriend, Noah Hunter.

But while their on-screen chemistry was clearly evident, did you know these two actually had a thing in real life? Though both have gone on to have some pretty high profile yet rocky romances over the years that have been splashed all over the headlines (Spelling has had her ups and downs with her husband Dean McDermott, while Green was previously married to Megan Fox before her headline hitting romance with Machine Gun Kelly), they had their own tumultuous love affair back in the day.

But it sounds like there's a bit of a difference of opinion when it comes to what really happened between these crazy kids.

Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green don't exactly agree on the details of their romance

Tori Spelling first admitted to getting intimate with Brian Austin Green during their "Beverly Hills, 90210" days on "Tori Spelling: Celebrity Lie Detector" in October 2015, revealing she was 16 when she and her co-star met and eventually sparked up a romance. "I remember the first time I shook his hand. I had that, like [shiver]... I fancied him."

Spelling then dished more on what really went down on "Women on Top" in August 2020, sharing she was totally in love with her co-star and he, apparently, reciprocated... only he doesn't exactly remember it that way. Spelling confessed she has her version of what went down and he has his, explaining, "It's so funny, because to me, I was like, 'Remember that summer we were together? You said 'I love you' and I said 'I love you.' And he remembers none of that. He was like, 'No, we hooked up. We were friends.' And I was like, 'Cool, okay.' Even now I'm like, 'Okay, cool.'"

She even claimed the "Beverly Hills, 90210" episode where the two characters got married featured a real-life twist thanks to their feelings for one another, revealing they wrote their own vows for their characters. "We rehearsed the wedding scene and read what was on the script. And then until the cameras were rolling, neither of us heard the vows," she said. Ah, young love. Maybe.

Tori Spelling defended Brian Austin Green

While the details may differ, Brian Austin Green did confirm there was something between him and Tori Spelling the year before her big confession — only he kept the details far briefer. "We hooked up. We did," he sparingly confirmed on "Watch What Happens Live." "But we were young so that's what young people do."

It sounds like there's no bad blood between these two despite their differing recollections, though. Spelling proved she still has Green's back in November 2020 when she publicly defended him amid some parenting drama with his former wife, Megan Fox, in a sweet Instagram post praising him and their fellow former "Beverly Hills, 90210" co-star, Jennie Garth. "We really grew up together. Just a silly bunch of teenagers... Bri would 'pull my pigtails' on set and till this day can still 'push my buttons' in the best of ways bc he knows me so well," Spelling captioned a photo of the three of them together. "Jen and Bri are the best parents I know. Honor to consider them my friends and brother and sister on this journey in life. I love you both. I always have. Always will!" she added.
