Jersey Shore: Pauly D And Jenni 'JWoww' Farley Tried To Become More Than Friends

If you watched MTV during the late 2000s, odds are that you heard several "Cabs are here!" chants, knew what "GTL" was, and knew all about "The Note" come 2010. That's all thanks to "Jersey Shore," which changed the lives of its cast members forever and introduced the world to the way Italian-American 20-somethings from New Jersey lived, which was entirely too entertaining. Every one of the original cast members that went on to appear in all six seasons is memorable, especially Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio, and Vinny Guadagnino. And we can't forget Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola. Deena Nicole Cortese, the second Meatball to join Snooki, came in for the last half of the series, and Angelina Pivarnick, somewhat of a villain in the series, left after Season 2.

Through the ups and downs of the series, the punches and fights, the cast members all kind of stuck together (except for Sammi, who has not appeared in the reboot, "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation"). With all of those intense situations and even an international trip to Florence, Italy, the "Jersey Shore" cast all have a history together. But for JWoww and Pauly D, that history goes beyond just friendship hugs. And it almost turned into something more after Farley's divorce.

Pauly D and Jenni 'JWoww' Farley almost hooked up after Farley's divorce

On a May 2020 episode of "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation," Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio nearly hooked up. It was filmed in the fall of 2019, when Farley and her boyfriend, pro wrestler Zack Clayton Carpinello, were on a break. As the "Jersey Shore" family usually does, they were out clubbing in New Orleans for Angelina Pivarnick's bachelorette party. And as they were out, Farley and Pauly D started getting really cozy with each other on the dance floor. Everyone thought it was a joke at first, but when it was obvious that Farley and Pauly D were actually flirting and vibing, the housemates were fans. The two really only had a good cuddle though, as "Love Island" islanders like to call it. Why? Pauly D has "too much respect for her" to make a move into the non-friend territory.

A lot of it had to do with JWoww's unknown relationship status with Carpinello at the time. But when Farley told Pivarnick that she was single, she also revealed that there was more to why she didn't fully hook up with Pauly D. "Me and Pauly had a nice dinner together that night," she said, explaining the time they were in New York together. "And then we went home together. And he shut the door on me." Pivarnick remembered how upset JWoww was at the time. "I sure was," Farley said. "I've tried."

JWoww and Pauly D hooked up Season 1 of Jersey Shore

Basically when it came to whether or not Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio were going to become more than friends after her divorce from Roger Mathews, Pauly D was going to have to make the move. "Pauly and I have this weird past. And after I filed for a divorce, I tried to reopen that past," Farley admitted in a confessional on "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation." She added, "He surprised me for my birthday and I went back to his hotel room and it just didn't work out like that. So I decided to just end it there. I mean, obviously, that was terrible. So yeah, I really don't know what to say. I would have totally went and did dirty things with Pauly."

Back in Season 1 of MTV's "Jersey Shore," Farley and Pauly D did have a steamy make-out session. Jenni went to lay down with the DJ after he went upstairs on a 2009 episode. "We're starting to kiss. It's getting a little bit crazy," he said in a confessional. This is famously when Farley said "I love it" to Pauly D's private piercing.

When it looked like they were going to hook up again in 2020, Vinny Guadagnino was a huge supporter. "I 100% want Pauly and Jenni to hook up," he said. "To see Jenni hook up with Pauly now, that would be like watching greatness all over again."
