Who Is Grant Gustin's Wife, Andrea Thoma?
Through every season of CW's "The Flash," we've seen the beautiful relationship between Grant Gustin's Barry Allen and Candice Patton's Iris West evolve. Off-screen, though, Gustin's heart belongs to his wife Andrea Thoma. The couple first met in 2016 and dated for only one year before getting engaged. In December 2018, the pair tied the knot in a lavish Los Angeles ceremony. "I can confirm that Grant Gustin and LA Thoma were married this past weekend. It was a most beautiful ceremony that was shared by their families and close friends," Gustin's manager said of the occasion (via People). Unsurprisingly, the pair's wedding was graced by a number of celebrities, including actors Melissa Benoist, Chris Wood, Taylor Trensch, and model Renée Mittelstaedt.
Since getting married, Gustin and Thoma's love has continued to grow stronger with the pair constantly gushing about each other on social media. "Love you more now than I did then. Truly," Gustin wrote on their second wedding anniversary. "You inspire me to be better every day. Whether that means doing the dishes in a timely manner or just having more confidence in myself. I don't know who I'd be without you." In return, Thoma let the world know how much Gustin meant to her in a social media post of her own. "Baby us. To many more years of learning, growing, and evolving together. Always choosing you. I love you," she penned in December 2022.
Aside from being Grant Gustin's wife, though, who really is Andrea Thoma?
Andrea Thoma is a woman of many interests
While Grant Gustin has been thrust into the limelight since landing his role in "The Flash," Andrea Thoma has led a more private life over the years. Despite this privacy, Thoma has apparently lived an interesting life. While studying exercise physiology at Kent State University, the 34-year-old played on the soccer team — which is something she enjoyed doing until sustaining an injury in 2016. This hasn't stopped Thoma from exploring other sports, though. "I have played competitive soccer my whole life until my last knee surgery (of 5) in 2016," she wrote in a 2021 Instagram post. She added, "Since then I have been trying my hand in more non contact sports to satisfy my competitive bug."
Following her graduation from Kent State University, Thoma went on to Old Dominion University where she bagged a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Today, the Ohio native works as a professional physical therapist, with a clientele consisting of celebrities like Camila Mendes and Danielle Panabaker. Given her interest in physical therapy, it's only natural that Thoma has documented her workouts and fitness routines on social media over the years. To take it up a notch, in 2021, she founded Dare To Be Active, a fitness app providing step-by-step workout/exercise routines performed by Thoma herself.
Andrea Thoma is a proud mom
In February 2021, Grant Gustin and Andrea Thoma (who also goes by LA Thoma) announced they were expecting their first child together. Taking to Instagram, Gustin shared a picture of himself and Thoma holding up an ultrasound picture while striking a pose with their three dogs. "Unbelievably excited. As LA noted, the dogs obviously are too," he captioned the sweet snap. Six months later, the couple became first-time parents when they welcomed their daughter Juniper Grace Louise. "Juniper Grace Louise is here and mama and papa are absolutely obsessed," Thoma wrote in an Instagram announcement. "We will be very busy kissing and sniffing every inch of her until she is old enough to tell us it's weird."
Since Juniper's arrival, the proud mom has continued to share adorable photos of the tiny tot, albeit with her face hidden. This, apparently, is the couple's way of protecting Juniper's privacy, as previously revealed by Thoma. "We will cover their face in photos as we feel strongly that they should have the right to remain private and decide whether they want to become a public persona," she said in an interview with VeryWell Family. Nonetheless, the physical therapist shows off her love for Juniper as much as she can. "How to even describe this love. Thank you for making me a mama baby girl. And thank you to my mamas for showing me the way," the proud mom captioned an adorable photo of herself and Juniper on Instagram.
