Was Erica Herman Close With Tiger Woods' Kids, Sam And Charlie?

Tiger Woods was blessed with golfing moves like Jagger, but his love life's been one continual shot into the rough after another. To recall, Tiger was the best at his game and had three career Grand Slams. Then he underwent extensive knee surgery in 2008. Tiger was back on the course in a year but far from form. Still, that was the least of his worries.

Tiger had a gorgeous wife, Elin Nordegren, with whom he shares two adorable kids. Then he learned what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas after club hostess Rachel Uchitel exposed the shady side of Tiger and opened the affair floodgates. Per TMZ, Tiger paid Uchitel $10 million to keep schtum, but the tryst tea was spilling, and it wouldn't stop. Uchitel was just mistress #1; The National Enquirer (via New York Post) reported Tiger had over 120 affairs during his five-year marriage.

His family man image was shattered — and so was his SUV after Nordegren smashed it up with a five iron. In 2010, Tiger checked himself into rehab for sex addiction, but his marriage was done, and so was his career it seemed. However, he clawed his way back, and then Erica Herman entered his life and Tiger found love again. It seemed like everything was back to functional family life — until it wasn't. So, was Erica Herman close with Tiger Woods' kids, Sam and Charlie, or was there trouble on the step-mom front?

Luckily for Erica Herman, Tiger Woods' kids, Sam and Charlie, are super sweet, and his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, is a class act. Aside from the SUV incident, Nordegren handled herself with dignity throughout their beyond-messy breakup. She did just two U.S. press interviews, both with People magazine. After that, she's remained quiet about everything that went down (and likely has several million incentives to continue to).

Tiger's relationship with Herman went public in 2017 when she was his plus-one at the President's Cup. However, according to Page Six, the couple first met ten years before at a bar Herman worked at while studying at UCF. They finally got it together when she took a job as the Director of Operations at Tiger's new restaurant. After things turned romantic, Herman was suddenly thrown into co-parenting a family. Thankfully, it was a smooth transition as Sam and Charlie approved of their dad's new girlfriend.

"The kids like her," a source told People, adding Nordegren did, too. "Elin has a friendly relationship with Erica," the source said. "Tiger has come a long way, and Elin acknowledges that. She is happy that he is dating Erica," the source added. Moreover, Woods even shared a flick in 2020 with Herman and his kids on vacation, writing, "Nothing better than being with family." So what went wrong between the two?

Given his past, it's little wonder — although still creepy — that Tiger Woods has a history of having his girlfriends sign NDAs. But demanding Erica Herman sign one has caused Tiger severe legal nightmares. If it wasn't for Herman's NDA, it's possible that the public wouldn't know they'd split last year. CBS News reports that Herman's requesting that the contract she signed be annulled. She's citing the federal Ending Forced Arbitration of Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Act and claiming the contract isn't enforceable because of the federal Speak Out Act.

Meanwhile, Us Weekly obtained court documents filed by Herman in October 2022, which claimed that Woods tricked her into leaving the house they shared after they broke up last fall. Herman alleges she was encouraged to go on vacation and upon return, she learned she'd been booted out. 

She's demanding Woods pay her $30 million, claiming it's the "reasonable rental value" of the five-year tenancy they'd agreed upon orally. Woods may want to reach for the Excedrin Extra while we go for the popcorn, as it appears this is just the start of his legal headaches.
