Offset Returns Home Following Georgia Arrest
Migos rapper Offset has returned home following his recent arrest.
On Saturday, July 21, 2018, Cardi B took to her Instagram Stories to share an update with fans after her rapper husband was taken into police custody in Atlanta, Ga. the day before. "Home," the new mom captioned a boomerang of the couple together. In another post, Cardi B (real name Belcalis Almanzar) wrote, "For the record Offset is not on probation."
At the time of this writing, Offset has yet to publicly comment on his latest legal trouble. However, as his lawyer revealed to People this weekend, "He is concerned, very concerned, about [Cardi B]. Of course his new baby is his top priority as well as his other children."
As Nicki Swift previously reported, Offset (real name Kiari Kendrell Cephus) was arrested on Friday, July 20, after his car was searched during a traffic stop. The "I Like It" rapper had been pulled over for reportedly having tinted windows and making an illegal lane change, before cops from the Clayton County Police Department allegedly discovered at least one gun and marijuana in his SUV.
According to TMZ, Offset reportedly posted $17,000 bail on Saturday morning. In addition to being charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a weapon during a crime, the rapper, who is a convicted felon, also faces charges of possession of marijuana and improper lane change.
Cardi B, 25, and Offset, 26, had just welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Kulture Kiari Cephus, earlier this month. Prior to confirming her pregnancy during her Saturday Night Live debut in April 2018, Cardi B secretly married Offset last fall. As the "Bodak Yellow" rapper revealed in late June, the couple's wedding took place just weeks before Offset publicly proposed while on stage at a concert in Philadelphia last October.
