What These Reality Stars Looked Like Before And After Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery and reality TV go hand in hand — almost more than plastic surgery and Hollywood's elite. Sure, some A-listers dabble in the world of Botox and certainly aren't strangers to a face-changing nose job (we're looking at you Jennifer Grey), but reality starlets love taking the easy way out. After all, why struggle with a personal trainer when you could just get a little lipo? It seems like a pretty obvious choice (especially if you love carbs and what kind of monster doesn't love carbs?).

The thing about plastic surgery is it's not always vanity that drives starlets under the knife. Every reality TV star has her own, unique reasons — whether that's fixing lifelong insecurities, easing medical conditions or simply liking the look. A few Real Housewives may have gotten tummy tucks to slim down their post-pregnancy bodies, but Vanderpump Rules star Kristen Doute turned to the practice after a freak accident. Other stars like Heidi Montag risked their lives to achieve their ideal appearance.

Regardless of their reasons, it's a fact that all of the these reality stars had work done at some point. What may be surprising, however, is just how subtle or startling their before and after plastic surgery photos look.

Jenni "JWoww" Farley

If Jersey Shore: Family Vacation taught us anything, it's that the cast of the famed MTV reality series loves plastic surgery. Deena Cortese opted for a nose job; Snooki and Angelina Pivarnick (aka Dirty Little Hamster) shared the same surgeon for their breast augmentations; but Jenni "JWoww" Farley was the true trailblazer of her girl squad.

The star has undeniably chilled out since her days of hard-partying, heavy tans and beating up the beat (or whichever castmate decided to provoke her enough to throw a punch). She looks almost nothing like her former self, which we're guessing could be fixed with some self-tanner and missed Botox appointments. But most of us don't actually know JWoww without breast implants, because the reality star got her first boob job when she was 18 years old. After breastfeeding her daughter Meilani, she decided needed her implants "switched out," although she kept her size at 34F (per Us Weekly).

Though Farley has been open about her breast augmentations, she's also been the subject of more than a few plastic surgery rumors. The star is long believed to have had her chin sculpted, though it could just be her impressive weight loss. Either way, the starlet isn't sweating it.

"I love the way I look and am totally honest and open with it," she told Entertainment Tonight"I do not want a saggy face in 30 years!"

Heidi Montag

Heidi Montag is the poster child for Hollywood's plastic surgery obsession. The Hills protagonist-turned-villain famously underwent 10 cosmetic surgeries within a short, 24-hour period. As ill-advised as this may have been, it was even worse than most of us could have ever imagined.

"I died for a minute," Montag told Paper in a 2018 interview. "With that much surgery, I had to have 24-hour nurse care," she continued, also describing how her husband, Spencer Pratt "didn't want to leave my side ... My security guards called Spencer and told him, 'Heidi's heart stopped. She's not going to make it.'"

The harrowing experience forced the former Hills star to take a look at her life and just how much she was willing to throw away for the sake of "vanity." She's since moved onto a new chapter and had a baby boy, Gunner, who has even started making red carpet appearances (via The Daily Mail) with his famous folks.

Farrah Abraham

Farrah Abraham is almost unrecognizable as the pregnant teen who rose to fame in MTV's 16 & Pregnant. The mama caught the plastic surgery bug almost as bad as Heidi Montag — and you know the only cure is a few botched procedures.

According to OK!the star had her first breast augmentation before she could legally drink. Years later, she followed up with a second, botched boob job that forced her to undergo reconstructive surgery (i.e. a third boob job!). Abraham also received a rhinoplasty and a chin implant, which she removed in 2013. Eventually, Abraham's passion for cosmetic surgery sent her straight into the throes of E!'s reality hit Botched (but hey, at least she got that reality star paycheck!).

It was only a matter of time before Abraham tried out lip fillers. The star opted for a lip implant, but the surgery was troublesome from the beginning.  According to an interview with People, Abraham said her anesthesia never started working and she "could feel everything" that was going on. The teen mom realized she was having "some type of reaction" when she experienced terrible pain and extreme swelling. That's when she turned to the doctors on E!'s Botched to remove it.

Since then, the star has had a vaginal rejuvenation and shockingly, decided to change up her regimen of lip fillers. We didn't see that coming.

Caitlyn Jenner

As part of the Kardashian brood, it's not surprising that Caitlyn Jenner eventually went under the knife; however, instead of using the art for an ego-boost, the Olympic medalist embarked on an amazing transformation. Unbeknownst to the public, Jenner was suffering from gender dysphoria.

Jenner's amazing transformation was documented on her reality show I Am Cait and E!'s Keeping up With the Kardashians. In 2015, Jenner came out as transgender during a 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer

Since then, the reality star shared with Vanity Fair that she underwent a breast augmentation, hair-removal procedures, rhinoplasty, and a "tracheal shave." She also had "facial-feminization surgery," which "can involve such procedures as hairline correction, forehead contouring, and jaw and chin contouring". According to Page Sixthe latter is a 10-hour procedure that costs an estimated $70,000, but that's chump change when your daughter's worth nearly $1 billion, right? On top of all of that, Jenner also took the plunge on gender reassignment surgery in 2017, a procedure she allegedly contemplated having in 1985. She opened up about the process in her memoir The Secrets of My Life (via RadarOnline).

"The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful but liberated," she said.

Kristen Doute

Kristen Doute ended up getting some pretty hefty plastic surgery, but not for the reasons you'd think. Like most Vanderpump Rules stars, Doute is well-versed in the art of Botox, but a freak accident brought her straight to the plastic surgeon.

In October 2015, Doute was getting out of a car when she tripped and smashed her face on the bumper. According to In Touch, the star "had fractures to her eye socket, cheekbones and the front of her face." The injury was so severe that Doute said, "I was unable to open my eye or chew, so I went to the hospital."

In an interview with People, Doute's plastic surgeon Dr. John Layke spoke about the star's tough surgery.

"That was one large procedure through multiple incisions to the face and scalp," he said. "She nearly crushed several bones on one side of her face. Without repairing that, the face would eventually grow more and more asymmetric as scarring and muscles pulled."

Doute debuted her new face in that same In Touch interview, and you can barely tell she went under the knife at all.

Stassi Schroeder

According Vanderpump Rules star Stassi Schroeder, everyone on the show has had some sort of cosmetic procedure. "No one is totally all natural," she told Page Six of her castmates, adding, "No one in LA is." But Schroeder may have started the youngest, and she's proud of how it made her who she is today.

Schroeder went under the knife at just 18 years old to get a chin implant. Today, she looks almost unrecognizable from the teenager who appeared on The Amazing Race alongside her family, and she's totally loving it. The Straight Up With Stassi podcast host also told Page Six that her chin implants and breast reduction were the "best things" she's ever done for herself. Unfortunately, that little chin implant caused some permanent numbness. Much like the Weeknd, Schroeder can't feel (part of) her face.

But Schroeder has always championed total realness. When she got a breast reduction that brought her down "from a DDD cup to a D," and she showed off her scars in sexy photoshoot.

"I was like 'Don't edit out my scars,'" she told People (via Yahoo! Life) of the shoot. "They're awesome. I like being myself and I feel that everyone should embrace themselves It's a scar! Scars are pretty! It's almost like a birthmark or something like that where it's something to not be ashamed of."

Mama June Shannon

If you don't recognize Mama June from Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fame, then that's because she looks like a completely different person. Don't worry, she's just as loud and outrageous (and, unfortunately, just as controversial). Mama June's epic weight loss wasn't easy. The starlet lost a whopping 300 pounds after receiving gastric sleeve surgery (via People). Her trim figure unfortunately came with a whole lot of extra skin, so off to the plastic surgeon's office she went.

Mama June spent $75,000 having doctors shape her figure from head-to-toe. Her work rivals that of plastic surgery queen Heidi Montag (though undeniably less traumatizing). According to another People report, the star's list of procedures includes: "Breast augmentation and skin removal on her 'turkey neck,' 'bat wings,' and stomach — an area where doctors removed 9 lbs. of loose skin."

In addition to the lifts and liposuction, Mama June landed a brand new reality show. WE TV enlisted the star to share her post-weight loss life on From Hot to Not.

Kim Zolciak-Biermann

Kim Zolciak-Biermann has no qualms about delving into the details of her various artificial enhancements. In an infamous Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 3 episode, the star munched on pizza and guzzled down soda while sitting under a fat-burning laser. Her trademark is wearing a blonde wig that's shockingly similar to her own hair (it's a matter of convenience because it's already styled when she puts it on). She's always been real about not being real.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Zolciak-Biermann finally dished the dirt on her string of plastic surgeries. She got a tummy tuck at the same time she fixed her hernia. She's had work done on her breasts and skin-tightening treatments. She's also no stranger to a little Botox and lip filler, but honestly, what reality star is?

The one surprising thing is that Zolciak-Biermann adamantly claims she hasn't had a nose job, and she's really got no reason to lie after dishing on everything else. Though she's been subject to more than a few rumors, she claims the new look is simply some good makeup and contouring. Okay, Kylie Jenner.

Melissa Gorga

Who knew a nose could cause so much drama? Leave it to the Real Housewives of New Jersey. Melissa Gorga's not-so-secret nose job became a huge point of contention for Jacqueline Laurita, who accused her co-star of having a whopping four rhinoplasties in an over-the-table screaming match. You know how those Real Housewives of New Jersey do it. At least no one threw punch, so it's an improvement.

Gorga was less than thrilled about Laurita's attempt to expose her, though it's pretty unclear why anyone would care about her nose in the first place. Girl wasn't hiding anything and owned up to having the procedure (once, not four times).

"Let's be honest, it's the worst-kept secret that I've had a nose job, but it's my secret to tell, not hers," Gorga said in the episode.

All in all, Gorga's nose job wasn't even a drastic change, so if actually took four surgeries to accomplish, we hope she didn't pay full price each time.

Blac Chyna

Before Blac Chyna was a controversial reality star wrapped up in Kardashian family drama, she was a normal girl with a normal job. We'd have never given Angela White a second glance back in her days at the hair salon. Since then, she's definitely adopted a few curves, and her before and after photos show off a wildly different look.

In the past, Chyna has been subject to rumors about butt implants and liposuction to shrink her hips. Though she attributes her weight loss to breastfeeding (via Us Weekly), ex Rob Kardashian alleged that he paid $100,000 plastic for surgery to help the starlet get her body back after giving birth to Dream.

In a now-deleted series of NSFW Instagram posts (via Hollywood Life), Kardashian showed a video of Chyna allegedly being prepped for surgery while smiling and saying it's "booty time." He then shared the alleged results of her procedure claiming the starlet had a breast lift and a butt reduction (Life & Style managed to capture screenshots of the now-deleted posts). Remember, though, Kardashian is the same guy who leaked her naked photos as revenge. According to CNNChyna was granted a restraining order against him in 2017.
