Shay joined the reality show cast in its first season, although she never expected it to be such a big deal. As she told People, "Did I expect the show to be successful? No. I wasn't even expecting to be in front of the camera. I'm very shy and I went along with whatever situation was happening. I was just being me." While she wasn't comfortable with filming at first, it's a good thing she got used to being in front of the camera because she quickly became a fan favorite.

Shay's witty comebacks and positive outlook on life had her labeled as the matriarch of the entire cast. While it seemed like there wasn't anything the reality star wasn't willing to share, there is one thing Shay kept private — her love life. For the reality star, it was important to keep her personal life out of the spotlight. She shared with Oprah Daily, "​​I have a wall that comes up. When that wall comes up I can't take it down." Although she kept most of her love life and personal matters private, she revealed a couple of details to fans, including the fact that she had been married, per Meaww. In fact, Shay opened up about how she had been married several times.

Anna Shay said "I do" more than once. In total, the "Bling Empire" star walked down the aisle four times, according to The Cinemaholic. Shay kept all her marriages under wraps to the point where it's been nearly impossible to uncover any details about her four ex-husbands. What we do know is that all the marriages ended amicably, which seems rare for someone of her economic status. According to Express, Shay revealed on the Netflix hit series that her marriages weren't terrible and "even the divorce part was good."

And if you thought that the reality star earned her wealth from one of her husbands, well, you thought wrong. Marie Claire reports that Shay was rich from the moment she was born. The "Bling Empire" star's father was a wealthy businessman who founded the company Pacific Architects and Engineers. Shay later inherited her father's company along with her siblings, and they ended up selling their shares for a huge paycheck. So, Shay never needed a man to boost her finances, and fortunately, her four divorces didn't affect her fortune. And while she didn't gain any money from her previous marriages, she did get something even better. Her one and only son, Kenny Kemp.

Anna Shay didn't need a husband because she had the purest love with her son Kenny Kemp. According to The Cinemaholic, Shay welcomed the now 29-year-old during one of her marriages. As to which one of her marriages or who the dad is, no one really knows! This seems crazy knowing how big of a star Shay was, but like we said before, her private life has been extremely secretive.

However, we do know Kemp is an avid collector of bongs. BuzzFeed News did a story on the then-21-year-old's massive collection, which included a "legally paid for collection of pipes, pendants, marbles, and tubes featuring psychedelic swirls, fantastical creatures, skulls, and nostalgic references to Nintendo characters." Kemp's collection is no joke and is reportedly worth half a million dollars. And if you're wondering how Shay felt about this, it seems she didn't mind because she let her son use her home's basement as the location for his supply.

Although it's unclear if Kemp plans on continuing to build his collection, he has been faced with a tragic situation. His mom, suddenly died in June 2023. According to BuzzFeed News, in 2015, eight years before his mother's passing, Kemp was the "sole heir to hundreds of millions of dollars." Meaning that, if that statement continues to hold up, he will obtain his mother's fortune after her tragic death.
