Abby Huntsman Of Fox & Friends Weekend Joins The View

Former Fox & Friends Weekend anchor Abby Huntsman has officially joined ABC's The View as a co-host.

E! News reports that Huntsman has joined Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Meghan McCain as one of the co-hosts of the popular daytime talk show. The View's network, ABC, addressed Huntsman's addition to the program in a statement. "We have an exciting season ahead of us and are thrilled to welcome Abby Huntsman to The View," the statement read. "She brings her unique life and professional experiences and has a smart, relatable and distinctive point of view on everything from pop culture to politics to parenthood."

ABC continued, "We can't wait to return to the Hot Topics table with Abby joining our panel of incredibly talented women whose diverse voices have always played a significant role in the national conversation."  

As could be expected, Huntsman is clearly excited to be joining the ladies of The View, especially since she first started her career at Good Morning America after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a communications degree. "Thrilled to return to where it all began for me @ABC — running scripts, covering the overnight news desk, & logging tape — never dreamt back then I'd one day join @TheView table," she tweeted out after news broke about her new gig.

As E! News noted, Huntsman had previously interned at GMA and had also served as an assistant booker for GMA and a news desk assistant for ABC News.

Calling her position on The View a "dream come true," Huntsman shared that she is looking forward to joining "the most interesting and successful talk show on television today" (via Variety).

Previously, The View co-host Paula Faris announced in July 2018 that she'd be leaving the show in order to focus on another project at ABC — a "faith podcast" (via People). Her fellow co-host Sara Haines also left, saying goodbye in August 2018 (via E! News). She'll be working with former Live! with Kelly and Michael host Michael Strahan for a new show called GMA Day.

Huntsman will make her debut as a co-host on The View on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018.
