Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Reportedly 'Eager To Start A Family'
Not for the first time, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have everyone wondering — is there another royal baby on the way?
According to an Entertainment Tonight exclusive, published on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, the royal couple is reportedly "eager to start a family." As a source cited by the publication explained, "Harry is tactile and protective of his new wife. He is completely besotted and nothing would make him happier if they were starting a family."
However, it may be a while before we hear any exciting baby announcements from Kensington Palace. The insider continued, "They wanted to hit the ground running after their marriage to focus on their charitable interests and Meghan is really looking forward to representing Her Majesty on her first major Commonwealth tour to Australia, Fiji, Tonga, and New Zealand." With the trip already coming up in late October 2018, the former Suits actress has reportedly kept busy preparing in order to support her husband as he takes on the role of Commonwealth Youth Ambassador.
While Prince Harry, 33, and Markle, 37, only just tied the knot at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in May of this year, this isn't the first time the two have sparked baby rumors following the royal wedding. As Nicki Swift previously reported, the newlyweds recently stirred pregnancy speculation when the prince listed his 2017 Audi RS6 Avant for sale in August 2018. It may sound like a bit of a stretch, but we have to admit that the stylish car, which he'd only owned for a year, isn't necessarily family-friendly or equipped to fit diaper bags and a car-seat.
However, it's not as if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex haven't publicly commented on the matter themselves. At the time of their November 2017 engagement, they told BBC News, "I think eventually, one step at a time, and we'll start a family in the near future."
Meanwhile, even Markle's estranged father, Thomas Markle, told Good Morning Britain in June that his famous daughter "has wanted children for a long time."
While we can't help but hope that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle do welcome their first child together sometime soon, the important thing, of course, is that they start their family whenever the time is right for them.
