Khloe Kardashian Slammed Over Comments After Defending Daughter True

Some fans are questioning Khloé Kardashian's recent comments on social media.

On late Thursday evening, Sept. 27, 2018, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star stirred up controversy after expressing a colorblind philosophy while defending 5-month-old daughter True against an online troll's racist remarks.

"I dislike the fact that people are allowed to comment on my daughters skin color but as soon as I comment kindly back and praise her for all that she is, the comment gets erased," Kardashian began a series of tweets. "If you have the courage to post your nasty criticism please allow one to defend or comment back."

While a number of fans initially expressed their support for the famous mother-daughter duo, things took a noticeable turn after the Revenge Body star explained, "I try to put myself in their shoes & maybe they were brought up in a different type of household then I was. So instead of shaming I try to educate. In our household we do not see color. We see emotion and action. We see love. We feed off of energy."

It wasn't long before Kardashian was slammed for the latter part of that comment, which sparked responses ranging from concern to outrage. "If you don't see color then you don't see your child," one social media user replied, adding, "The fact is that so much of who she is and will be is wrapped up in her skin color. The world will treat her differently because of it and you have a duty to prepare her for [it]."

Meanwhile, another person wrote, "I don't expect much from any one who grew up with wealth to understand the issues facing 'common' folk and what people of color actually go through. She is giving the typical response from people who don't know prejudices and racism from a personal perspective."

At the time of this writing, Kardashian has yet to respond to the backlash.

As Nick Swift previously reported, Kardashian, 34, famously gave birth to little True just two days after boyfriend Tristan Thompson's headline-making cheating scandal broke in mid-April 2018. The couple, who started dating in October 2016, stayed together amid the allegations. Thankfully, the proud parents' relationship seems to be stronger than ever these days. After spending the summer back home in Los Angeles, the family-of-three will reportedly head back to Cleveland, Ohio this fall, where Thompson plays for the Cavaliers.
