Why Did Jennifer Lawrence's Wedding Dress Get Its Own Hotel Room?

Jennifer Lawrence made sure her wedding dress got A-list treatment ahead of her big day. And while we're not saying she went full-on bridezilla, it was pretty extra.

The 29-year-old tied the knot with art dealer Cooke Maroney in a custom Dior number on Oct. 19, 2019. The designer of the bride's wedding dress shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, since Lawrence has been a major face of the French fashion house for years. And seeing as how Dior has been there for some other significant moments in Lawrence's life, including when she took home the Oscar for Best Actress at the 85th Academy Awards, it makes sense that she would trust them to take on the gown for one of the biggest days of her life.

However, she didn't trust the paparazzi to refrain from sneaking a shot before she actually got to walk down the aisle in the custom creation. A source told People that the dress was under the watchful eye of the whole Dior design team, and was even checked into a "private guest room at the Hotel Viking." We're also imagining there were some Hunger Games-level obstacles should someone have actually been able to get inside the room. Luckily, the odds were in the Dior team's favor, as things went as planned right up to the moment the Oscar-winner was ready to don the dress. "The entire Dior team loaded the dress in the car the morning of the wedding," the source told the outlet.

So what did the dress look like?

The Dior team did such a good job of keeping the dress under lock and key that, as of this writing, days after the wedding happened, we still don't have a clear, full look at the bride's dress. However, Elle UK has offered us our best first glimpse. It appears Jennifer Lawrence went with a sparkly, 1920s inspired look for the big day in Newport, RI. J-Law wore her hair in an updo away from her face, so as to not distract from the gorgeous neckline and puff sleeves. At this point, only the 150 guests at the wedding have seen the look in full — including A-listers like Adele, Amy Schumer and Kris Jenner. So since we weren't among the lucky few, we're just going to have to wait and see if the award-winning actress pulls a Hailey Bieber and unveils her wedding dress on her own time. However, given how notoriously private the actress is, you probably shouldn't hold your breath.
