The Real Reason Prince Hated Kim Kardashian
The Kardashians are a polarizing family — you either love them or love to hate them. And that doesn't just ring true for ordinary folks like us. There are plenty of celebrities out there who would be perfectly happy if the Kardashians vanished into obscurity, never to be heard from again — and the legendary artist Prince fell under that category.
In 2016, Zooey Deschanel spilled the tea on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, telling the talk show host that the "Little Red Corvette" singer wasn't a fan of the famous family. Apparently, the superstar arrived on set to shoot a special episode of New Girl that featured a Prince-level party with top-notch celebrities. Someone from Prince's camp asked, "Who are the celebrities? I hope it's not a Kardashian" — yikes! And while the singer clearly wasn't fond of the family overall, he only ever singled out one member — Kim Kardashian. So what exactly did Kim K do to deserve a snub from "The Purple One"?
Prince didn't understand why people would want to Keep Up with The Kardashians
As far as we know, the first time the two celebrities ever came in contact was when Prince invited Kim Kardashian to hop up on stage with him at one of his Madison Square Garden concerts back in 2011. First impressions can be tough, and Kardashian did not make a great one. Instead of dancing with the icon and really living in the moment, Kardashian awkwardly shifted back and forth and eventually started clapping her hands a little, but it was to no avail — the damage was done. Prince booted Kardashian off of his stage. Where's Beyoncé when you need her?
On an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians after the incident, Kim told Ryan Seacrest that the reason she froze up was because she didn't want to humiliate herself at The Garden. We'd take a gold star from Prince over the approval of thousands strangers any day.
Of the debacle, Prince allegedly said (according to an insider), "She is a nice enough girl but she ain't got no talent. She can't dance, she can't sing, she can't do anything." While that might not sound like a super scathing remark, seeing as how Kim Kardashian has been rebelling against the idea that she has "no talent" her whole career, the comment probably hit pretty close to home.
Prince was not alone in his dislike of the middle Kardashian sister. These celebs can't stand Kim K either.
