Lauren Bushnell Marries Chris Lane After Ending Her Engagement To Bachelor Ben Higgins

Lauren Bushnell's road to happily-ever-after was as drama-filled as one might expect when it comes to someone who once accepted a proposal on a reality TV show. And while Bushnell ultimately ended her engagement to former season 20 Bachelor star Ben Higgins back in 2017, on October 25, 2019, she married country singer Chris Lane during a wedding in Nashville. That wedding can finally be seen in the dreamy footage of the swoon-worthy ceremony that was shared by the newlyweds just a few weeks after they said "I do."

"She don't know I got some big, big plans / Build a little house out on some hand-me-down land," Lane sings during the video, which is set to his song "Big, Big Plans." As the bride and groom can be seen prepping for the special day, seeing each other for the first time before the big moment, and sharing their first kiss as husband and wife before celebrating the occasion with their loved ones, he continues to sing about their future life together. "Find a little island where we go to get tan / I bet we take our kids down there one day / And I know she wouldn't mind."

While the video certainly seems to show that Bushnell enjoyed a wedding that she'll never forget, it wasn't an easy journey to find the man who she could build such a stable future with. In fact, her time with Bachelor Ben Higgins seemed like an emotional roller coaster.

Lauren Bushnell's roller-coaster relationship with Bachelor Ben Higgins

Lauren Bushnell first met and fell in love with Ben Higgins, pictured above, during his time as the Bachelor in 2016, which followed his debut on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of The Bachelorette a year earlier. However, things took an unexpected turn when Higgins confessed his love for two of the women who were vying for his heart: Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher. Despite his initial indecision, in the end, Higgins proposed to Bushnell and they were on their way to wedded bliss...or so we thought.

A year after deciding to spend the rest of their lives together, Bushnell and Higgins called it quits. "It is with heavy hearts that we announce our decision to go our separate ways," the couple said in a joint statement. "We feel fortunate for the time we had together, and will remain friends with much love and respect for one another. We wish nothing but the best for each other, and ask for your support and understanding at this time."

Their split followed attempts to save the relationship, which included counseling. "We're not the perfect couple," Higgins explained at the time while discussing their struggles. "Far from it! But we are trying really hard and we love each other a lot."

While things didn't work out for Bushnell and Higgins despite their best efforts, they were both able to move past their heartache, which is surely why she's now married and he's also found someone new to love.
