Olivia Munn Reveals Her Heartbreaking Future Plans With Kobe Bryant

In the days after Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash that also claimed the life of his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, and multiple others who were on board, many celebrities have taken to social media to share their shock and grief. And that includes actress Olivia Munn, who has since revealed that she was working on a very special project with the NBA star just before his death.

"Kobe. You were such a wonderful friend," Munn wrote on Instagram while opening up about the role that Bryant played in her life. Along with posting a photo of her friend as well as an image of Bryant with his daughter, she also praised the kind of man that he was, writing, "Always positive and thoughtful and supportive and reliable and so, so bright. One of the brightest souls I've ever seen and I am absolutely devastated by this."

"Sending all of my love to Vanessa and your daughters,⁣⁣⁣⁣" Munn wrote, referring to Bryant's wife and the three daughters he left behind, Natalia, Bianka, and Capri. Munn also revealed the heartwarming — and now heartbreaking — plans she had with Bryant that they were working on together just before his death.

Kobe Bryant was creating a 'whole big world'

In Olivia Munn's Instagram tribute to Kobe Bryant, she discussed the incredibly special project that she was embarking on with the basketball legend.

"We were supposed to get together this week to brainstorm more parts of the epic world you were creating at Granity Studios," Munn wrote in her post. "You were creating a whole big world from scratch — everything from the continents to the oceans and rivers to the trees and even the leaves on the trees.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣" While exactly what form this project was going to take — a book, show, or film — hasn't yet been specified, it sounds like it was shaping up to be truly epic.

While that sounds amazing on its own, the motivation behind Granity Studios, a multimedia company, is what makes it so touching. Munn explained, ⁣"The last time we talked, I told you my idea about what the night sky would be made of. I was inspired by friends of mine who lost their 4-year-old daughter to cancer. When explaining to their younger daughter what happened, instead of saying that her sister had died, they would tell her that 'Billie turned into a star.'"⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣"We wanted to help kids be less afraid of death and tell stories of all the little and big stars," she continued. "And now you're one of them. Rest in love my friend. I'll look for you in the sky."

Sadly, Bryant may be gone, but the idea of the man who was larger than life was "greater than infinity."

Kobe Bryant's Granity Studios is 'greater than infinity'

While Kobe Bryant will not be around to see the future of Granity Studios, the studio's website posted a message regarding the loss of the sports star that focuses on what meant so much to the man who we've lost and offers a glimpse of hope for the idea that will change lives. After acknowledging that the "Granity Studios family ... is devastated by the passing of Kobe Bryant" and the others lost in the helicopter crash, they went on to explain the nature of their work and how it was motivated by Bryant's desire to help others.

"Granity is a word that Kobe created that is a combination of greater than infinity," the statement reads. "In everything he built, Kobe was driven to teach the next generation how to reach their full potential. He believed in the beauty of the process, in the strength that comes from inner magic, and in achieving the impossible." That's why they "will continue Kobe's mission and commitment to using creative education to inspire people to be the best versions of themselves."

And they're not the only ones trying to help others in the wake of this tragedy. Bryant's wife, Vanessa, has started a new initiative that is incredibly touching.

Vanessa Bryant has announced a new initiative to help

Vanessa Bryant will need the support of those around her following the passing of her husband, Kobe Bryant, and their daughter, Gianna. And at the same time, she's announced a way to help the others who have also been affected by this unexpected tragedy.

While breaking her silence after her heartbreaking loss, Vanessa took to Instagram to express her grief, and while she admitted that she's not sure what the future holds, she did share news about steps that will be taken to ensure that those left behind after this sad situation will be taken care of. "To honor our Team Mamba family, the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation has set up the MambaOnThree Fund to help support the other families affected by this tragedy," she wrote. The fund's website explains that the fund "was created to honor Team Mamba's mantra, 'Mamba on Three.' It's with that customary chant for togetherness, sisterhood, and the ability to take on every challenge that this Fund was named."

The challenge that's now ahead for those affected by these sad times will hopefully be aided by the fund which "exists to honor and support loved ones of the seven other victims involved in the tragedy that occurred on January 26, 2020. All donations to the Fund will be directed to their families."

If you'd like to donate, you can go to MambaOnThree.org and to "further Kobe and Gianna's legacy in youth sports," check out Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
