Why Sam Page Broke A Promise When He Married Cassidy Boesch

Almost like a storyline from one of his Hallmark Channel original movies, actor Sam Page's real-life love story began the day he met his now-wife, Cassidy Boesch. Best known for his roles on AMC's Mad Men and Freeform's The Bold Type, Page has the sort of charismatic aura that hooks viewer — no matter the story. And it seems like the leading man's allure isn't limited to the screen. As it turns out, Page and Boesch came together when the actor least expected to find the love of his life, laying the foundation for a love story that would make rom-com lovers everywhere swoon.

During an interview with Cosmopolitan, Page told the magazine that the summer he met Boesch, he'd actually made a promise with his circle of friends to remain single the entire season. However, once "the one" came into his life, Page had no choice but to break that promise immediately.

"One year, my best guy friends and I made a solemn promise to stay single the whole summer," Page explained. "Two weeks later, I met my wife. I went to my friends and said, 'Hey, guys. So, I meant that promise when I made it, but... I'm out.' I hadn't been looking for a relationship, but I recognized the greatest person in my life when I saw her."

It was 'love at first sight' for Sam Page and Cassidy Boesch

For Sam Page and Cassidy Boesch, it was love at first sight. Ironically, the two initially planned to skip the event where they first laid eyes on each other. According to Civilian, Boesch's best friend lured her to a cocktail party under false pretenses. Upon meeting, Page and Boesch instantly hit it off.

"She was the first person I met when I walked in the door, and we talked all night, and I ended up driving her home because her friend wanted to leave," Page told Cosmopolitan. "And on the way home [after I dropped her off], I called my friend—it was late too, because we talked a long time—and I left a voicemail and said, "I just wanted to go on the record to say, this has never happened to me before and I guess I wouldn't believe in this until it happened"—it was love at first sight. Love at first sight is real. It happened to me."

"By the time I met my wife, I wasn't thinking that marriage would even be a thing," he added. "I didn't mind the concept of having a partner for the rest of my life but I wasn't sure about the whole legal aspect of it. But when I met my wife, I knew immediately that my life would be very heavily impacted by this woman. And then shortly thereafter knew it was a done deal."

Page and Boesch now have three children together

In November 2014, Sam Page and Cassidy Boesch tied the knot at a villa outside Santa Barbara, Calif. Page posted numerous shots from the intimate ceremony on his former Instagram page, including one of him and his groomsmen. We can't help but wonder if any of them were in on the "broken promise" that led to Page's fairytale wedding to Boesch.

In the years since their nuptials, Page and Boesch have expanded their family. On Sept. 27, 2016, Page announced the birth of the couple's first child, son Logan, with an adorable Instagram announcement featuring the family's golden retriever. "The newest, best and brightest part of my life hanging out with the chillest and hairiest part. These two are going to learn a lot from each other. Welcome to the world, my son Logan," Page wrote.

Page and Boesch, who's a preschool teacher, also welcomed twin girls on Aug. 11, 2017. Now, as a father of three, Page's new role has impacted all aspects of his life. The actor told Civilian that he would love to see his children grow up in a society where helping people is made a priority. "I think that the concept of caring about others and helping others is not lost in people that care about those kinds of things."

While usually it's not great to break a promise, in this case, we'd say it worked out pretty well for Page.
