The Real Reason Lori Loughlin Isn't Quarantining With Her Daughters
After the March 2019 college admissions scandal, actress Lori Loughlin has been staying close to home, according to People. So when social distancing and quarantining became national health mandates, the Full House alum was somewhat used to being around the house, since she spent the past year being more low-key in general, per the outlet.
Loughlin is quarantining at home with her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, in their Bel-Air mansion. They've had a really tough year, even without threats from the coronavirus, per People. Loughlin and Giannulli both stand to face years in prison because of their role in the admissions scandal, where they allegedly bribed the University of Southern California with $500,000 to let their daughters, Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli, gain acceptance to the school on the grounds that they were rowers (even though neither played the sport), according to InTouch.
Loughlin and Giannulli were each charged in October 2019 with one count of conspiring to commit federal program bribery, charges of money laundering conspiracy, conspiring to commit mail and wire fraud, and honest services mail and wire fraud, according to People. The pair pleaded not guilty.
With so much stress going on for the family, it comes as a bit of a surprise that Loughlin isn't quarantining with Olivia Jade and Bella. Instead, the daughters are on their own.
Lori Loughlin's daughters are 'doing their own thing'
Despite a considerable amount of stress at home, Lori Loughlin and her daughters, Olivia Jade and Bella Giannulli, are quarantining separately. According to People, they are practicing social distancing, but staying in "constant contact." Olivia and Bella are quarantining together along with Olivia's boyfriend, Jackson Guthy, per the outlet.
Interestingly, Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, put their 12,000-square-foot mansion up for sale in January 2020, according to TMZ. However, their decision to sell their home — listed at $28,650,000 — has nothing to do with their legal troubles, per TMZ.
They're not selling their house for financial reasons. In fact, as Entertainment Tonight stated, they're doing "very well financially." Instead, they're selling it because Mossimo has a passion for real estate and architecture and he refurbishes their homes. "Real estate is Giannulli's passion, he loves architecture and design, and selling the family home is not unusual for them — they typically sell their home and move every three-to-five years," as ET reported.
In the midst of all of this, Olivia Jade and Bella are building an even stronger bond. "The girls are doing their own thing. They are growing up and want to start fresh," a sourced told ET. "The family is closer than they've ever been. Olivia and Bella have always been so different, but after having faced this scandal together, they have realized how much they need each other."
Now, with quarantining, the two sisters are closer than ever.
